What a fantastic fantastic lesson sir.!This was probably 2 years of musical theory grade lectures explained succinctly. Especially how simple and clearly you demonstrated the resolution of all the leading tones in the full diminished chords. This was simply mind blowing. Cannot be understood by books . Thank you sir

This was really clear and helpful, thank you so much! I'm a first-study drummer who did Jazz theory classes in Uni but couldn't practice much of what I was learning obviously! Trying again to get to grips with the basics, and I can't say enough how much I wish this video existed 10 years ago! (I'm extremely grateful today, though!)

Thank you, lesson was amazing as always. You teach incredibly useful things. God bless you. I also wanted to ask you, whether you could make some lessons specifically about accompanying maybe singer or some other instruments in different genres. That would be amazing, as far as I know you do not have many videos on that topic and I really think you have much to say and teach about this. I personally prefer pop ballads or rock ballads but whatever you teach us is always very very useful. Thank you once again and million times again, love you!

@@nathanielschool Jason, I strongly agree with Matus that you would be the IDEAL teacher to do a series of lessons on applying piano concepts / techniques in accompanying singers (especially in ballad form). There is nothing out there that I can find that covers this adequately and I am CONFIDENT you would do a better job than the majority given your wonderful teaching style!! Please seriously consider singer accompaniment lessons on ballad songs!!
@matussenci1805
@matussenci1805 Жыл бұрын
@@Leo-lp4zh in the meantime, Jason added lesson on reharmonization which kinda covers that topic or is part of it. I really loved it and learned a lot so I recommend that. Yet I still believe, there is still much Jason has in his pocket and so there is still a lot more he can teach us. Jason you are the greatest piano teacher I've seen, eve though I live basically on the other side of the world, I swear to God, that I will come to India once (or wherever you live) to see you and personally thank you for such s great job that I even can't thank you via internet.
@Leo-lp4zh
@Leo-lp4zh Жыл бұрын
@@matussenci1805 Thanks..I'm currently digesting the 3 recent wonderful reharm videos which covers much in accompanying vocals. However, there's more to being a good piano accompanist which I hope Jason is willing to cover. Of particular interest to me in ballad form is the proper chord voicing selections when a singer is actually singing vs the moments when the singer needs to take a breather. Chord voicing is a personal decision but I would love to see Jason explain and demonstrate what he believes are the effective styles out there (particularly when applying it to the reharm techniques which he did an AMAZING job of covering). Jason - Please seriously consider doing a series of lessons on this topic!!

Does that mean there are only 3 dimished 7th chords (that used different notes) because it's a symmetrical chord? In the same way that there are only 6 DIFFERENT tritone intervals (since this inteval is symmetrical)?
