In episode 25 of Hurricaneger, Hurricane Yellow was mourning the loss of his grandma, but later on, she was reincarnated as a young girl due to the machinations of Mosquito Seijin/Alien it was a nice touching episode. Also, in Kakuranger, it was established that Ninja Yellow had a little brother.

Goseiger was a little different. They didn’t have secret identities, they kept their entire existence a secret, wiping the memory of anyone who saw them or their enemies fight. The only exception being the kid who was their secret keeper and his father who they tried to hide from, until it was revealed he’d known all along.

Yeah, I agree, Super Sentai generally does a far better job of doing secret identities as they're much more flexible compared to Power Rangers where they're always inconsistent by trying to hide their secret identities (most of the time), while at the same time just carelessly flat out shouting "IT'S MORPHIN' TIME!!" where people could easily HEAR them, and I wish they would do it more like their original counterparts. Another great Video, archer! Maybe you could do a follow-up talking about the secret identities of all 15 pre-Zyuuranger Seasons, as well as the un-adapted Sentais like TouQger, Zyuuouger, Lupinranger VS Patranger, Kiramager, Kikaiger, Donbrothers, King-Ouger, and Boonboomger! You could also do a Video where you point out the times where viewers could easily (and sometimes not so easily) see the original Sentai cast, heroes, and villians, as well as even civilians!

A Sentai team having actual jobs really blends them well. Also, your request on Sentai vets porttrayed as civilians in later seasons is a great idea, something PR wouldn't ever do. The bookend of TimeRanger is a good example.

To be fair, sentai teams don't exactly do a great job with their secret identities either. Screaming "Bakuryu Change!" at the top of your lungs in crowded areas while hanging out in a dino themed restaurant isn't doing them any favors. Only group that I can name off the top of my head that does a decent job with their identities is the Lupins, mostly because they bother having disguises for their thief activities. And goseiger because memory manipulation. Most of the time the PR and Sentai groups just rely on the magic of "don't think about it" for identities.

Lupinranger Vs Patranger had a different take on the secret identity thing. One only the Lupinrangers do it not because they're sentai but because they are phantom thieves, in fact one of the ongoing plot points is them trying to thwart the efforts of the Patrangers, who are cops, from finding out who they are so they don't get arrested. Second even when not transformed they have a third "phantom thief" guise complete with masks that are supposed to have built in tech to thwart facial recognition sofware.

Super Sentai does often. Though with a lot of 70s and 80s Sentai, they were often at a home base they shacked up in when conscripted as warriors. Be from other worldly forces or Earth's own military. As such, their secret identities were negligible. Though it does feel weird that the bad guys never thought to run background checks on their enemy and see if their families can be leveraged for victory.

For Zyuohger, 4 of them are from Zyumen. Only Yamato and Misao are human. I don't think they cared too much about keeping their identities hidden. Although they don't tell Yamato's uncle, though he eventually finds out was very supportive. The only other family known is Yamato's father. Whom Yamato has problems with.

It has to do with the fact that Super Sentai is a strong part of Japanese Pop Culture. It is a " dynasty " type of show, a " long time soap opera " type of series filled with Sci-Fi and martial arts elements, spliced with intensity, drama but also with a great sense and dose of comedy ( this may vary depending on the season. Jetman and Carranger definetely don't look the same. ) I hate to write this but Power Rangers is an Americanized, strictly kid friendly adaptation, one which is being considered my many people of different ages to be the super hero equivalant of Barney The Dinosaur. A stigma the franchise hasn't been able or willing to get rid off.

Super Sentai can be random and inconsistent, and it may just depend on who is writing an episode. I remember Jetman generally not caring about identities being secret; they transformed in public and would freely talk to associates that knew their identities. But Jetman also had episodes such as the one where Ako desperately didn't want her friend to find out that she was Blue Swallow, and another where I want to recall a fake psychic leads them into a trap by mentioning their identities.

I think the one season that tends to mess around with logic a lot, being Donbrothers, handled it well with how random they were as they would use the trope of keep a low-profile though transform in front of people if absolutely necessary, yeeeet we also can consider the anoni small fry and even some of the beastials had been outed in some way, with even law enforcement finding out about them. Hell, even the people who would be transformed into hitosuki had some form of recollection of the Donbrother's identities in most cases. It's just only in four known instances where these elements are exploited and at other times, it's strangely not too. The anoni even knowing about them and being able to tell when the team can pick them out of all the people around kind of don't capitalize on this knowledge except for one time where they kidnap Haruka's/OniSister's aunt just to blackmail the team to handling a common enemy in beastials. Also, apparently with Boomboonger, things start off with the team being somewhat anonymous, but eventually after a while they transition into being somewhat publically known well enough to even become marketable in-world.

Gogofive was really inconsistent about it. Some episodes acted like their identities were common knowledge and showed them interacting with scientists, rescue workers, and other people who knew they were Gogofive, but there were other episodes where they tried to hide their identities from their friends or strangers.

Either one of two ways, the government made it law where civilians can't annoy or actively bother the sentai without consequences happening. This is a weird video, it almost seems like this was just made from skimming Wikipedia pages, as some info for these series is missing or outright wrong. For instance, GoGoV didn't really have public identities like Lightspeed Rescue. They cooperated with a few public agencies every now and then, but for the most part, people didn't generally know who they were. For instance, Kyoko only found out because she recognized Shou's voice over the radio. And other people from the family members' lives didn't know why they had quit their professions, and it was kind of a big deal if/when they found out they were members of GoGoV. For the most part, even the teams that didn't care to keep their secret identities, like Rangers working for public organizations, generally didn't go around announcing their identities. That was necessary considering they sometimes had to go undercover for missions and such. To say certain teams had "public identities" just because they didn't make an active effort to hide them or just because they worked for public organizations is essentially not accurate. Take the Beast Morphers/Grid Battleforce Rangers. Very public organization, but the Rangers' identities were specifically kept hidden so that they could effectively operate without being bothered. Most Sentai teams acted the same way. One of the only teams that I can really think of actively going out of their way to publicly announce themselves out of costume were the Gokaigers. It was directly shown right from the first episode that literally EVERYONE on the planet knew who they were, and that actually caused problems for them a few times in the series.

I love RPM but what point would there be to this? Outside of suits they are nothing alike. It'd be comparing apples to oranges. Go-Onger is a comedic sentai while RPM is one of the most serious PR seasons. Both do their jobs well.
