I had to restart my Noyte 20 Ultra before something happened, altough Galery Labs was installed. After restarting it worked perfectly.

Note 20 u here to. Trick is to just keep tapping and then it will do a count -3 -2 -1 installed

I'm surprised that you didn't mentioned the top option (and most important thing) in the Labs settings. "Filmstrip in viewer". It's the most annoying function ever since the update and I found your video thanks to Reddit. Everybody hates that function. Now I can finally turn that off and watch my videos in the standard video player in the gallery again. But your video did help me to turn on Gallery Labs, so thanks! 👍

At first it was not working for me either, it said "gallery labs -1" and nothing else happened. BUT when i kept tapping and tapping, till it says "gallery labs enabled" it worked. (it might say -1, -2, -3 etc, but it did the job after few taps). I hope it works for you too.

Tried it on my S9 and I get a Galaxy Labs response with a -1 after it which I can change if I keep tapping to a -2 and -3 then back to -1. I don't see any Labs entry showing up though.

Developer Options /Simulate Display With Cutout- select "Waterfall". This will get rid of the edge screen. Please tell the world because I have never found an answer to switching off the edge. This with your steps to cover over the camera makes for a nice practical shape. (lot of $ for a small screen! It would make a great shortcut when I want to see a video. Very good presentation. Jimmy I hope you can help. After the step to OneUI 3.0 the BLC (Backlight Compensation) Menu disappeared. This was the most important photo correction method I used. Also 3.1 not brought it back. Any idea how can I get it back? Please!!!

Hello Jimmy. Very useful videos, thanks. I just want to add a small detail here that might be helpful to people. I have a Galaxy S20+, and when I tapped several times to enable my gallery labs as you told, I noticed the message "Gallery Labs will be enabled in -2". I guessed the -2 meant in two minutes, because when I backed out, closed the app, and got back in, I couldn't see the gallery labs until after 2 minutes.

That's actually a countdown, when you're tapping it counts down from -3,-2,-1. The final tap let's you know it's been enabled.

If we unlock those options, is there anything weird happening like gallery always running in the background, consuming ram and things like that? Just making sure before enabling them. Also is there a way to hide them again? I assume tap that area again to hide it?

I don't know about hiding. But in the beginning you can see that there's a button to deactivate Gallery Labs again.

You can turn it off with the toggle. It won't "always run" its just like developer option but for gallery. Just gives more settings to it. So no battery drain.

I have enabled gallery labs, numerous times, but can't find it on my galaxy Tab A (tablet). Any ideas on where to find it. I'm trying to get rid of film strip because I'd rather view it the way it was before this upgrade. Help!!! I'm a Synchronized swimming coach and I need to be able to pause and move the bar along the bottom to zero in and identify problem areas with my swimmers. The film strip is too small to do this conveniently.

Jimmy, I tapped the version, and although it said the labs 2 were unlocked, it never appeared in the settings. I have a Note 20U v3.1, and would like to remove the filmstrip preview of photos that the labs would allow.

Keep clicking. I made the mistake of stopping as soon as I saw a pop-up that said "will be enabled" but the 3rd time I kept clicking until the pop-up said "is enabled" & now it appears.

Even after turning Galery Labs off, there is still the movie line underneath my video's. Galery Labs doesn't appear in my galery settinds anymore, but still the movie line is present. I'm gonna restart my Note 20 to see what's going to happen. After restarting the movie line is disappeared. So obviously the Note 20 needs a complete restart to apply the changes.
