A Milliionaire paid for my Secondary School education, everything included, this was back in the 60's. He also sent money every week for my food, on my birthday and at chistmas. Because I was the only girl he paid for a women to clean our house twice a week. He helped many others also. I think viewers need to remember that a small investment goes a long way and it is only the beginning. I don't consider it charity but a gift and I am very greatful.

good grief people.... it's a gift... be grateful and be happy for others receiving something no matter how small or big a gift. this man can do something else with his money but he chose to give! Be kind. Be grateful. Be respectful. Be humble and most of all, Be happy for you and others. i love this. this is close to my heart as an avid sailor and windsurfer when i was younger. Mr. O'Coineen what a fantastic honour it must've been for you to have inspired everyone. thank you for your help. it surely made me smile and will endeavour to make my business a success in order to give back! You're an inspiration.

Spirit of adventure nz is such an awesome experience that I think all young persons should have an opportunity to go on. It provides opportunities for you to explore your capabilities through activities you might never get to do in your everyday life. It gives you confidence and so much more in a fun and supportive environment. What an awesome gift to give.

This is a beautiful video. Thank u for sharing this inspiring program. I am from the USA but have Irish heritage. It is such a marvelous country full of caring intelligent people. May I please stress the importance of putting sunscreen on children when outside. We have a belt here in North Carolina that has a high rate of melanoma cancer. Also the autoimmune disease lupus which I have is prevalent. Adults should also try to wear a high spf sunscreen. I know it was not available earlier. God bless and keep you all.

Hey, I think the comments are being a bit hard on the guy. On "The Secret Millionaire UK," the average giveaway seems to be about 30k pounds. Occasionally I've seen people give up to 45k, but that's rarer. I'm not as familiar with how much is spent in euros on the Irish show, but it seems to be similar numbers. Enda has just given to 4 causes instead of the original 3 he planned. He's giving away 29k, and a 15k euro boat trip, so that's 44,000 euro -- definitely on the high end. And that's not, from what I gather, his only charity. It sounds as if he's already involved on a volunteer basis with sailing. We have no idea what else he spends his money on, and there's a huge variation in millionaires -- he could be worth 1 million pounds or 999 million pounds, and he would still be a "millionaire." And that money is probably not all liquid -- it's held in various different assets. We don't know how much of a stretch this money is, other than the fact that he just went 4,000 euro beyond his predetermined budget. He's done some good things with his money on this show, so condemning him for not doing more makes the people in the comments sound small, not him. I wonder if they're jumping on him because he's so used to giving away his money that he doesn't come shaking and crying out of it like all the other millionaires on these shows who are new to giving. They'd probably praise those millionaires, because they emote with them and therefore feel a connection with them, yet they're disgruntled at not getting the same emotional kick this time, and so assume it must be his fault, and find reasons to criticise. But just because we don't get the same zing of satisfaction from watching him give doesn't mean he's being stingy. It probably means he's even more generous than we have the privilege of seeing at them moment.

zdrux By all means, I have total respect for all those entrepreneurs who risk their own money and create work for so many. But when you agree to participate in a tv program and go public with your wealth for everyone to see, you should do a little better than he did. He just confirmed the saying that rich people are rich because they do not part with their money under any circumstances.

It didn’t matter how’s much he gave to anybody, it was just the kindness that’s matter. He didn’t inherit monies but he had worked so hard to build up all his wealth, no one hand down to him so he didn’t need to give away his monies to anyone at all. But he did it , no one put the gun to his head and make him give away his monies. If I am in his shoes I will do the same and will also doing the fallow up.

Not sure what to make of this one. I love all the SM from around the world but sometimes you feel they could do more. He seemed a bit detached and like he was pushing his own story and his own agenda. Even telling people how to spend the money. It's a couple of grand. They might make that from a few pub quizzes. Not life-changing sums. I've never criticized a millionaire before but this guy was particularly cheap. Sometimes I think they don't want to upset the balance of a family or group by putting in too much money but I'd say this guy still has his communion money. 😁
