@@jillr759For your next learning experience, you may be interested in what an actual genius is. The clue is in the word: 'genius' 'genesis' genes'....Geniuses are about the beginning something new. In other words, geniuses go beyond the existing parameters of what is known and discover/ create something entirely new from outside those parameters. An example of a modern day genius is Jacob Collier. He writes music using the microtones between the notes (e.g. between the physical keys on the piano) and harmonises with those, as well as composing with microtones and established notes. Collier has created something completely new beyond the parameters of music....as we, as a species, knew it. Becoming knowledgeable from data on KZbin is life enriching and noble. Whether KZbin made you a genius is something else. 😊

@Hannari-xt6nr
@Hannari-xt6nr 6 күн бұрын
Actually you do it wrong. The ball part is to START cutting the seam just the first one or two stitches, you NEVER go all the way through the seam by pushing this way because you are definitely cutting the fabric if you do that. You just cut the first one or two stitches and then you use the other side with the pointy end and you unstitch the thread by sliding it out, and then you use a pair of scissors to cut the thread when it gets too long and then carry on unpick the thread one stitch at the time, until without pulling on the fabric so that you don't damage it. There is a reason there is a ball on one side and no ball on the other. If people used it the way it is done on that video, then there would be no need for the other side with the pointy end. My aunt is a seamstress at Dior she has been using seam rippers for decades and she was horrified when she saw your video.

@@robinsnest7627 we had two seperate rooms. The sewing room was much smaller of course. I can remember all 4 things we made that year. 1. Velvetta Mac and cheese 2. French Toast 3. Grilled cheese sandwiches 4. Spaghetti sauce. All right before “women’s liberation” ruined it for women (and gave them TWO FULL TIME jobs!!)and made it seem like an inferior “job” to be a mother and take care of the home. I know because I became a physician and had a very hard time doing it all. My husband a physician too with long late hours. So I can now say that a woman’s place should be in the home and take care of kids. We would not have the problems we do with kids today. Who is raising our kids today??

Genius Thank You. !!! I feel silly, because I've done it wrong and struggled, because I watched everyone around me including my Home Economics teacher do it wrong. I assumed it was because it was my lack of skill. Subscribing today.

Thank you so much. I have used a seam ripper for years, but was always in fear of cut into the fabric so unpick each stitch. Now you have shown the correct way to use the seam ripper it is so much quicker. I can't thank you enough.

I’m 78 & have been sewing since I was 10, & others here, I have been clueless re the purpose of the red dot. But I was over the moon over this little seam ripper gizmo I bought at the 5 & Dime back in the olden days. Now, knowing what the red dot is for will make seam ripping even easier. It certainly went fast in the video. I’ve used it upside down for all these years since I bought my first one for a couture design class in college.

Я так и делаю. Остриек предназначен для поддевания ниточек в узелке, а круглый кончик для распарывания, держать под углом, чтобы не зацепить остриём материал
