What Laura and Lydia said about this beautiful tribute to their father, Ricky, released on Father's Day: “It’s easy, as a woman, to write a song about the men who’ve broken your spirit. It’s a different task entirely, to sit down and write a song about the first man to hold you, the first man to proclaim that you are beautiful, the first man to express his lifelong love for you, the first man you learn to love in return. But that kind of man holds such value in this world, even more value than the ones who don’t handle us with care. ‘Carry Me’ is about the love of a good father, and the patient, tender, forgiving nature of that bond. Such a love should be celebrated, on this national holiday and on every regular day. Thank you, to every good man who has made the choice to be a present and purposeful father. Your worth is immeasurable and you make this cruel world better by the way you love those who look up to you. We see you.”

That moment you’ve just barely heard something brilliant for the very first time. This song is so beautifully poignant that it makes me lament going so long in my life without such a sweet sound touching my soul. Some songs once heard can never be set free by the soul.

Yes! The memories just spill out, the good, the bad, all of it in so many layers blending together like these voices, finally settling then, in the knowing that “Father will carry me.” . . . . . .home. Finally home.

Not sure if I'm bawling because I missed this chance with my mother or because my father won't carry me or the song was just that moving or all of the above

Great Song with outstanding voices and absolutely beautiful harmony-singing. Being a big fan of the TV series "Wonderyears" i love those nostalgic vid´s. And seeing that the vid at 0:20 was filmed on 27.07.91, a saturday, really blows my mind. That was the second most important date in my life.

I can't get enough of this album, especially this song! It gets me right in the heart and soul. I pre-ordered the CD and digital download the second I could, and once available I have basically listened to nothing else. Maybe a little Brandi Carlile, but that's to be expected ;) .. Great job ladies! I look forward to seeing you on tour!

I'm a long way from home I feel the weight in my bones I'm tired like a sinner I'm cold and my money's all gone I'm ashamed of the things that I've done Feeling love is like facing a gun The closer you get, the farther that I'm gonna run If I keep on hiding, how will I be known I keep telling myself I'm better alone When my father will carry me If I came back and fell at your feet Would you even recognize me? I'm worn and I'm weathered Your love is a shelter I need If I keep on hiding, how will I be known I keep telling myself that I'm better alone When my father will carry me If I keep on hiding, how will I be known I keep telling myself that I'm better alone When I fall When I fall When my father will carry me home

I luv these girls sound. Not that I have any room to say anything but they both have plumped up a bit. The taller one was quite a bit slimmer not long ago. Myself I'm trying to sweat it by pushing the mower instead of riding the entire yard and going to the gym. I'd say with their lifestyle and work load it's hard to be mindful of how they eat and take care. Personally I don't have excuses besides not making good diet choices.
