Is that good??? In the US, being considered a historical home just means it's more of a pain in the ass to get permits to change anything 😂
@MsRobynmichelle3 жыл бұрын
@@erinrafferty5659 In Canada, it depends. It can make it harder for permits but based on what I've seen of her house thus far I don't think the the entire property will qualify. For example, they might give her money to maintain the windows (I believe she has stained glass in one place?), the fire place, and the exterior of the house. Possibly the framing as well. But things like the carpeted kitchen, literal holes in the flooring, or other recent changes won't qualify so she can do what she wants. For certain rooms that are unliveable or code violations (such as the room in this video), they might ask her to use the reclaimed materials as much as possible while working on the property. So maybe taking the wood flooring out reusing it in a way that doesn't compromise the safety of the house. A lot of properties near me are given grants to maintain say, a deck or a patio, but the rest of the property can be altered because it was renoed before it was considered for heritage home status, but the deck was untouched. I hope that makes sense!

Make a shadow box of your creepy room discoveries! You can even make the shadow box very shadowy and give it a creep room vibe. Get crafty with it!

My house was built in the 1860s so I am living for this series. Half of the cellar is rough-cut stones and the other half, underneath where the bathroom was added on at some point, are regular smooth stones for the foundation. I can't wait to see you continue your renovations!!

So excited for you! I was 24 when I bought my 1950 home on my own. It’s been the best decision I ever made! Sooooo excited to watch your progress! You won’t regret this because it’s yours!

I agree with everyone about masks, goggles and gloves, but this is beyond cool! Makes me want to buy an old house in a small town.

Such an amazing old house with so much potential!! You did an excellent job in purchasing this home . Don’t listen to the naysayers. You’re gonna have a gem of a home with an astounding resale value when you’re ready to sell! Good job girl ! I can’t wait to see the results !! God bless and good luck !! I subscribed because I can’t wait to see the renovations 🌹 And I love your personality! You’re amazing yourself 😊

I just stumbled upon this video 2 years after it was posted, and I've only seen a small portion of the house, but I am salivating. It's so charming, and that little trap door upstairs (I can't). The babbling brook. She is so fortunate, and she's in for so much work. I hope it's all that she hopes it will be!

When you finally get around to making over that staircase it needs spooky velvet wallpaper, preferably dark red or green
