I strongly disagree with Neville that the Bible is simply allegorical. I think the great lesson is that they were real, but that the stories are also states to which we all can experience. Why can't both be true? If the are both true than to deny one is to know half the truth. To deny both is to be completely in error.

I choose to believe that he was indeed born, how it says he was, that he lived a mortal life and walked and talked, performed miracles and he was ultimately killed, resurrected and conquered spiritual and temporal death thereby. The immaculate conception does teach us many great truths, both literally and spiritually.

One who has a material consciousness of things needs to believe more in form than in spirit and in this way denies the omnipresence, omniscence and omnipotence of individualized consciousness in himself.

Most Christians believe its Christmas day yet it doesn’t say anywhere in the Bible this actual date occurred for his birthday. To top it off, if the 3 wise men were so great at telling time, wouldn’t they at least have that documentary of time frames? Mostly every historical figure has a birthday, even Buddha who was born way before Christ has one, yet Jesus whom is praised to be God and loved by so many has none? I never fell for the Christmas indoctrination the timelines just don’t add up and the fact that these holidays in the Bible land on pagan holidays and share the dates. With Christmas and Easter being an example. Sounds way too sus to me. 🧐🤔
