I realized that I didn't mention what lenticels are actually for! They are pores in the bark that allow gas exchange, oxygen in, carbon dioxide, and water vapor out. Let me know what wild fruit tree you'd like me to cover winter identification for next! I hope you'll be able to join my free Introduction to Winter Tree Identification class! - kzbin.infoN3o5BRuD4BM

I live in Nor Cal and I have a tree behind my home with berries and leaves. It is winter right now. Is this not an elderberry if it's still with leaves?

Thank you! I am totally down to learn everything foraging and what to look for. If I am sitting on an elderberry tree I will be so sad that I didn't find out sooner. I truly hope it is!

I wish you covered the PNW west of the Cascades! Lots of your videos like this one are still relevant to me, but I would love this quality level of content with the same vibes on my region

Unfortunately I'm in the exact opposite region of North America. Would be fun to get to visit and profile PNW some day though! :D

When I was a child, an old man, a self proclaimed druid, told me the knowledge about this plant was one of the most suppressed information from the old world. Don’t know how true that was.

I've always heard about PawPaw trees, but have never seen one in my area even though they are supposed to be native to my area. Could you do a video on PawPaw trees?

Do you have a link to the map that was 18 seconds into the video? Looks like a handy resource for identification.

Do you have rowan/ mountain ash trees (sorbus aucuparia) where you are? Google says the berries are edible when cooked, but its cousin the cotoneaster has poisonous berries, and the tree version looks a lot like rowan. Cotoneaster horizontalis looks nothing like rowan, and im pretty confident in my ability tell them apart

Also, i hate the rose family. Whoever decided that all flowers belonging to plants in the rose family are roses needs a slap. Roses are on rose plants, not apples and cherries and rowans and plums. Im not going to go into too much detail, just know it makes me angry
