Outstanding! Outstanding! Outstanding! For anyone watching this is the absolute best prime rib recipe. I will never do it differently again. I have been doing it this way for years now. Ever since she made the first video on it.

The bones were the first thing I noticed. I was like. WTF? They're on sideways??? LOL I never knew some people cut them off and tie them back on!

Wow I will definitely try this out soon!!

For 20 years I did a prime rib in the oven at Christmas. It has plenty of fat so the butter is tasty but unnecessary. Love your videos!

I've been thinking of doing this, but adding some Wagyu tallow to the butter mixture

The orientation of the ribs was the first thing I noticed about the video! Nice recovery.

I love love love the fact you did a video with the oven instead of smoker. I find myself sometimes having to avoid the smoker because other people don’t enjoy the smoke flavor. I hope to see more cuts of beef done in oven instead of smoker so I have more options. I feel totally lost when using an oven for meats compared to king of the grill. Appreciate you and hi Todd.

The butter rub is kind of a pain to put on the few times I’ve done it. Hard to get the butter to stick, especially in the sides. Not sure it’s worth the aggravation anymore. May just do a binder and hit with Kinder’s Prime Rib seasoning next time.

I’ve got another recipe with a mustard slather that has a little more of a kick to it that you might like: heygrillhey.com/smoked-prime-rib-roast/

I had a crisis when I saw the ribs going the wrong way...lol. Glad I wasn't crazy. Kinda forgot that they separate and add on sometimes.

Better look for a new butcher,in addition to not tying the bones on correctly he/she didn't trim the fat cap. LOL!

I would hate to see the price tag on that monster roast. It would take my wife and I a month to eat that much meat.
@janethowe881211 күн бұрын
My guess that is about $200-$225 worth of meat there, if you bought it in a grocery store. We could only afford to do one for New Years Day. I'm not fond of them. Too much fat for my taste.

I spilled something else on my shirt while the meat was cooking

Ditch the bones, they are only causing the roast to cook unevenly. You’re just paying extra for something other than the meat.
