RES (the brand) equal length system is still the best sounding. Almost no one knows it ! ☹️Its an equal length system (dual) with an X pipe.

I'd go with a more reputable company like Active Autowerkes who has a equal length midpipe and X-pipe system. They are the ones who came up with the equal length design for the S55 and made it sound good and same with the S58. Pair that with a ZERO burble tune and active sound delete, you have yourself a really good sounding modern turbocharged BMW

My G80 runs AA catted dps, AA single resonated mid, stock muffler. I do have a valve controller set at 25% open. I love the sound.

Best fix ive found so far is the valvetronic titanium midpipe. It makes up for the unequal length side, then goes into a single.

Stock DP’s with a single mid pipe and stock valves 100% open will sound the best on S58. Love the single midpipe!

Fi experimented putting the x pipe with the single mid, and it didn't produce good results. They also tried the setup with and without the resonator and didn't see much of a difference. Plus without the resonator, you can get louder sound especially for those that don't want to touch the stock DPs.

Nah man, still wack. Only way to make I6 sound better is doing single turbo with equal lenght exhaust manifold merging into single downpipe. With stock turbos equal midpipes are closest to it but still far behind. As far as i didn’t mix it up: S55 and S58 sound is bad because of 2 turbos and unequal length both exhaust manifolds and downpipes. You have turbo, exhaust manifold and downpipe for each 3 cylinders. Two downpipes are connected to one midpipe and so on. Because of this, these engines sounds like two separate I3 engines working next to each other (listen to GR Yaris revs, does it remind you of somethig?). If you would have equal length downpipes which is hard to fit you would have 50% of what it should sound like. On the other hand N54, N55, B58 sound is bad only because of unequal lenght exhaust manifold since they are single turbo.

It’s sounds so bad because it’s undersquare. All of BMWs turbo inline 6s sound bad because they are all undersquare. You need higher rpm’s to make an inline sound good.
