Great teaching technique althought I would like a bit more time and/orexplanation on the symbols and what they mean. It is one of my harder spots and you make it sound so simple. Thanks for your input it's greatly appreciated.

Jay, good to see you again. I'm still at it, but I'm old and practical, I'm never going to play classical or Dixieland. Currently, I'm improving my reading skills and playing along with Billy Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. Vocalists bend notes like crazy. Is there a way to emulate that. Are there preferred mouthpieces, reeds? I always enjoy your videos.

HiI Rocco! I am glad to hear that you are still at it. I will make a video about this topic - thank you for asking the question and providing me with a great idea. In general terms, a more open mouthpiece with a less resistant reed is going to be more flexible. I would think cane reeds would be better than synthetic. What setup are you currently using?
@roccoliuzzi839416 күн бұрын
@@clarinetninja I recently got a Vandoren 5RV lyre and am using Rico 2.5 reeds, though I'm experimenting with Vandoren 3's.

@@roccoliuzzi8394 The 5RV Lyre is a great mouthpiece...I find It to be literally in the middle of the mouthpiece world. It is a wonderful place to be. I am not sure which Ricos and Vandorens you are moving to and from, but that should be just about right to get some flexibility without it being too crazy
