Is it possible to add the entire semester and not just 8 weeks?

Yes, you can definitely add tasks for the entire semester up front! However, when your schedule is recalculated, only tasks due within the next 8 weeks will be included. If you have large, end-of-semester projects that you want to be spread out over the whole semester, I would recommend making repeating tasks (09:22). Hope that helps!

I liked doing it that way when I was a student, but it's entirely up to you. You could keep all your tasks in 1 calendar and, if you want, use tags to organize them by class. One benefit of putting tasks in different calendars is that the left border of the task will show as its calendar's color on the schedule, making it easier to differentiate tasks. And yes, you can change the color of a calendar to one of 24 preset options.
