I had the same problem. I've not had that problem since tying it this way.

I love this knot too. I take the braid tag and add a simple overhand around the main line so the tag is perpendicular to the main line instead of parallel to the main line. Just a quirk on my part, but it may help in the unlikely event that the knot slips a bit.
