Would love to see a pair with a sturdier sole so they could be used as camp shoes.

Around 1981 my late mother gave me a pair of Eddie Bauer goose down booties. They are still one of my favorite and most important possessions. I wear them every night in my van. I can't imagine life without.

Any idea if I can put some duct tape on the sole so that I can use these outside to take a quick bathroom break in the middle of the night without compromising the 10d nylon ? Anyone done this ? Love the concept !

I always have a change of socks with me in the back country.......the value of which cannot be over stated. A metal water bottle that can be warmed in the fire then taken to bed with you is another great tool to have in your kit. I like your Loftek booties, especially the price. I already have some down booties that I paid considerably more for. Thanks for sharing..........

Just ordered a pair of them. I have been waiting for these since you hinted about them a few months ago. I'm heading out camping next week. I wish I had them today. Can't wait to use them.

Overseas is ok, but where overseas? We don’t need to send money to China. They are building up their military, against all of us.

I want a pair absolutely! And a hybrid balaclava as well! I love my storm-loft down top quilt but it cost a fortune to get here to my home in Victoria BC. That’s not an Outdoor Vitals issue that’s a border issue. If there was a way to order your products and get them to Canada without getting charged extra duty on top of taxes and huge brokerage fees at the border I would order tons of stuff from OV because I love your channel and your dedication to being people into the outdoors. 🤩 But that’s not the world we live in unfortunately. 🤦‍♂️

Did you get any useful tips? I’m in Vancouver, same problem.
@zarlydoug
@zarlydoug 3 жыл бұрын
@@billpetersen298 kind of. There is a company in Blaine called Seawings International that will accept delivery’s from the USA on your behalf and they bring them across the border daily to YYJ. You still need to bring the items across the border at customs in the airport however there is no brokerage fees, only an 18 dollar CDN charge. I think they can ship it to YVR for pick up as well. I don’t know if it works for you so well I’m Vancouver but maybe a similar service exists that will bring items across the border to Vancouver for pick up. It’s not perfect but it’s less expensive.

@@zarlydoug Doug, thanks for the advice. If the borders ever open properly. We can go back to the parcel services, in Blaine, or point robert’s.

Be sure to use an antiperspirant on your feet as they sweat. Not a deodorant.It will really help keep your feet warmer.

One thing I noticed is, as I was fluffing up these booties to rearrange some of the stuffing in near total darkness, the stuffing material actually sparks quite a bit from being rubbed up against each other. So, if you are bored and sitting in the dark, you can have yourself a little light show! Lol! Not sure if these booties will end up building a lot static charge down the line though.

Wet socks = immersion foot = bummer. Never sleep with wet or moist socks. Change ‘em out and put the wet ones on your belly. They’ll be dry in the morning.

Thank you, for not saying, hand warmers. They are one use, and throw away. Bad, and worse.

In addition I recommend a fresh pair of socks for every day of your trip. Hand washing of socks with backpacking detergent is barely effective so for extra long trips have some socks waiting for you along the way or take a break at a laundromat. If you’re going to be out for two weeks bring 14 pairs of socks though. You can also use them as mittens on cold nights or mornings. Totally worth it.

@@AaronVets they compress to the size of a hot dog and don’t weigh much. I have also given socks to folks whose feet became terrible on the trail. I’ve never carried foot powder, but I should just for them. Imagine gummy feet with the skin peeling off. You’d be lucky to leave trail by the closest Jeep access.
