It's like a Lifetime movie with no commercials. Holy CRAP - they showed half the movie here !

Morgan Fairchild's reaction to Andrew Stevens' harassment sounds more like a tantrum. It's hilarious!

It is a dumb, exploitive movie, but let's face it - Morgan Fairchild is so beautiful in the 80s, it really does not matter how bad the script is.

Isn't that a reflection of Stevens and Fairchild?

Siskel made it personal. Name-calling....wtf?At some point in the mid to late 80's studios stopped providing clips for S&E for their horror films stating their clear bias.

I totally agree. He had a cruel streak in him (as I suppose a lot of critics would, though Ebert was a lot more likable) and his comments about Morgan Fairchild were gratuitously mean-spirited. He was always an asshole. I guess he couldn't help himself.

In the first place, I didn't understand The Seduction, and in the second place, I think this movie could have worked better as a rape and revenge movie a la I Spit On Your Grave (1978) as Roger Ebert said so at 4:46. Can anyone imagine Morgan Fairchild as a traumatized rape victim who would recover from her trauma and then get back at Andrew Stevens for sexually assaulting her?

This is a great movie, its campy , but campy is good, much more entertaining than say A Room with a View

I thought her performance was fine, it was more the boyfriend who came off stiff all the time. The bigger problem being the giant gaps in logic (spoiler: hilarious to think that the location of the dead boyfriend's body will die with Derek), but for a telephone stalker movie good enough in a cheesy way.

I saw this way back when VHS came along. Yep she can't act but i liked it for it's cheap b-movie that it is. It does the basic job of being entertaining in a paint by numbers kind of way.

I thought the movie was ungodly bad, but at the same time quite entertaining because of it. And as usual, I like Ebert's reaction more than Siskel's. Gene Siskel is always a jerk. The ONLY thing about this movie that wasn't terrible was Morgan Fairchild's performance. I didn't think she was bad at all. Sure, the character as written isn't all that interesting or very deep, but that would have more to do with the writing and the directing. Morgan Fairchild delivers her lines believably and is surprisingly sympathetic. And, of course, she is very beautiful. Gene Siskel was a dickhead.

Yeah that just looked like a terrible film right from the beginning and I'm sure Morgan Fairchild probably regrets doing it. She had a fun cameo playing herself many years later in a memorable scene in the surprisingly funny Eddie Murphy film _Holy Man._ (1998) That was fun. 😁
