I want take a minute here and say - what you are doing a huge amount of work right here, and most importantly - very necessary and useful, for example, I now decided to return to the old platforms that I missed (thanks to emulation everything is possible) and I like these videos wildly and even like that look at so many rare and unusual console games, I like the fact that you collect absolutely ALL releases that have ever been on the platform, it is still very useful when you break into genres, so I used many videos on Dreamcast, besides the cover and video look cool. It is still not clear why there are so few views, but Keep going what you doing ! P.S. I hope you do 3DO list aswell and Playstation Genre Videos, t would be a fire ! p.s. Saturn.. so many great japanese games which we have not seen, not for nothing that many consider SS best console for technical cut the edge 2D games ) It's very hard to explain, but I feel great while watching such videos, a warm feeling of nostalgia envelops!

It's really crazy when you have possession of all these games and for every system ever sold to man. Every day you play something you never ever played before and a lot of times you load up something you never even knew existed. That's like a surprise every day you open on of your ROM lists to a system. So many systems and so many stories and narratives to the plots within the games they tell truths and stories of current events in the time they were programmed and written which acts as tokens of remembrance when people lose sight of what was and how was things during that time period of that game when created and sold. It's awesome to see how technology in our lifetime has gone from a BLIP to BIZILLIONZIP! Games really are History and marks of societal culture. I can load a game and it takes me back to that moment and all moments I remember where I was at, eating, drinking, friends, places, smells and it's really crazy how deeply involved we got into our games that it set memories like songs do. You can hear a game tune from the distance, and it takes you back to a memory when you were bullied at the arcade by older kids or at times you were on little child dates with girls. FUN! LIFE!

PS1 had more than 4000, PS2 - around 4000 too. Insane when you think about it, even Saturn had tons (especially in Japan, where it was way more successful, as opposed to the Mega Drive).

@mariusamber3237 2 жыл бұрын
@@flatcapman Somewhat stronger hardware, from what I've read? But also considerably more difficult to program for, so things even out. PS1 was incomparably more successful because of the latter point + horrible advertising/release schedule on Sega's part. I'm surprised that a company with such an amazing console as Mega Drive made this many mistakes in the West. That's a shame, I like Saturn, but it was unequivocally a failure in the West, sadly.

Since Sega Saturn games are absurdly expensive, I would highly recommend buying an All-in-one Pseudo Saturn cartrige. Not only does it let you play imported games and burned backups without any modification, but it also gives you an incredible amount of memory for saves. But wait, there's more! It also has a switch on top that lets you toggle between standard, 1mb ram expension, and 4mb ram expansion. I bought mine on Etsy.

I think Saturn developers made the best of a complicated console. And the console, while somewhat dated (occasional significant aliasing and mesh transparencies) still has the Sega charm. Thanks for fulfilling my depth test for its library. This is an excellent way to see what I might want.

On paper, the idea of meshes or the Saturn's games as a whole being intended to take advantage of CRT pixel blurring sounded dumb to me. But after searching high and low on Retroarch for the perfect shader that emulates CRT, I finally found the perfect one! And let me just say, the transparencies look amazing!!! 1000% better! It's like a night and day difference.

I don't think so. Neither we in Europe missed much, because most of the japanese exclusives were mediocre games, puzzles or some weird stuff. :) Anyway, when you compare this and Playstation list, it's pretty obvious why PS destroyed Saturn, because it had so much more quality games, and many of them when compared to Saturn games looks like next-gen. Saturn always looked to me like it was stuck somewhere between 16-bit and 32-bit era.

@SolidSnake Not Necessarily, Did You even watch the Video? There’s Some Really Cool Japanese RPGs and Shmups (Shooters and Shoot’em Ups) USA and EU Missed Out On! PS Destroyed Saturn not just because of Game Quality but because it was 100 Dollars Less at Launch than Saturn. Some People don’t Realize This but Tomb Raider was Actually Developed to Run on Saturn First and Runs better on Saturn than PS1, There’s also a Resident Evil Director’s Cut than Runs better on Saturn than PS1, So it Depends on the Game although most 3D Platformers ran better on PS1.

To be fair, PSX had a lot of crap like this too. In fact, way more than this (over 2000 Japanese exclusives...) It's just that most people remember the big titles and not the endless sea of dross, whereas Saturn just failed in the West for the most part. Like, around 1000 games here must be Japanese exclusives... it also sold better than N64 over there.

Awesome work but pretty sure you missed Mystaria: The Realms of Lore AKA Riglord Saga in Japan (you have Riglord Saga 2). Other than that awesome, love these videos.

I remember going into the toys r us back in the day to see what games were offered for the Saturn. Not much. There must’ve been like a couple dozen Saturn games showcased and in the next isle like hundreds of ps1 games. I felt so hoodwinked.

I completely missed out on the saturn. I wish sega hadn't stopped making consoles cuz I really liked the dreamcast. After seeing the games on the saturn I think it might be my favorite. It has THE games for me. Man, I lucked out.

I WISH.. SEGA would jump back into the fray and make a return to consoles.. risky.. but I’d buy that in a heartbeat.. Chose the Master System over the Nintendo based on the great SEGA games that were in the Arcade.. and ported to console.. always loved the look of their consoles as well

So basically we missed out on a bunch of RPGs, Tact RPGs, Visual Novels, Shoot em’ ups and some action/adventure games. A lot of them would have helped the saturn in the west.

1107 games?? what is this sorcery!? i only knew of like 300+ wtf? way to go SEGA, woo! may have been a "failed" console, but they gave fans more variety than Nintendo did with the 64. I ❤SEGA!

I really enjoyed watching this as I was picking games on my "to-purchase" list. Was wondering if you are planning on making complication by genre for Sega Saturn?
