I seem to remember having a version of this story as a kid in audio form with a storybook. It has music and sound effects. The specific parts I remember is Morning Glory classical piece was played in the Spring. And when winter came there was a creepy whispering voice of snow speaking to itself "we must get hail to join us". Does anyone know the specific recording/narrator I am talking about? It isn't this one, and probably not the original classic. But for me, it was the one special since it was the first I heard. Can anyone help me remember which version?

@@jasonhurd4379 it was on an audio cassette that came with a book, so it was a really short version.

I've been looking for that version as well, just found it! It was the Superscope cassette recording. Here's a link to that audio: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKu4k5R-qNqbZ9U

Sir John Gielgud had such a beautiful voice, one wants the narration to last longer, we are privileged to still be able to hear him.Thank you🌻

whaooh!This is just Beautiful. Who was the little boy? Why did the Giant die? What is the message of the story?
@eduardo_corrochio2 жыл бұрын
This is what I gather: This story is a Christian allegory, even more symbolic than C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. The boy represents Jesus (crucifixion wounds; going away and then appearing again like the resurrection of Christ). The giant's garden represents the biblical Garden of Eden from the book of Genesis. The giant dies because he has lived a long life; he has grown elderly and it is his time. The story's message is about giving to others, about the importance of sharing. Also, there's a charming animated version of the story, made in 1971: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpvXfYeJbLlrmcU
