Just a suggestion but you could use a floor or bottle jack if you have one to lift the skid plates.

Happy 39th Birthday, Davin! I can't tell you how many birthdays I spent working or doing mundane stuff like laundry. It happens, but a good clean up project is great for taking your mind off things. Just make sure to treat yourself to something good albeit your favorite meal, drink, etc. You deserve it. For the big 40th, plan something in advance like a trip if you can get away. You should invest in a cheap small floor jack to hold the skid plates up as you un bolt and bolt them up. You'll save some squished fingers and skin with it for sure.

Happy belated Birthday Davin Geez, someone lied their azz off about keeping their stuff clean, that pile of dirt on the floor proves they lied, once you get it completely clean and all the maintenance done, it should run and work like a brand new machine, I'd mention to the seller that he reimburses the new owner at least ten thousand dollars for the hassle of cleaning up his mess and if he doesn't pay up, put his name on social media so everyone knows how much of a crook he is

Sounds like the guy didn’t service his machine at all! Hopefully the engine oil is not sludge! I don’t understand people sometimes, spend ten’s of thousands of dollars and don’t take care of it. Good job getting it cleaned out! If you want something done right, do it yourself!

When the insurance assessor comes out to examine the burnt out wreckage of you machine and turns your claim down because you didn't maintain it properly allowing flammable material to build up under areas that get very hot you'll will wish you spent 20 minutes at the end of the day simply blowing the machine down.
