The Sengol, the eternal symbol of transfer of power to India in 1947

At the inauguration of the new Parliament House on 28th May 2023, PM Narendra Modi will establish the historical and sacred 'Sengol' in the Parliament House. It will be installed close to the Speaker’s podium in the Lok Sabha.
Considered as the symbol of fair and equitable governance, this is the same Sengol that was accepted by the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru on the night of 14th August. It was precisely the moment in which power was transferred by the British into the hands of Indians.

Even though the Muslims invaded and conquered the whole of India, the Islamic forces could not even approach Tamil Nadu, but the Tamil kings were able to win and protect them until the British. Know the example of only one king whose name is Manuneedji Cholan, where the rule of justice of the Tamil kings was infallible! For the crime of unknowingly crushing a calf under a chariot, that king killed his only son on the same chariot! A statue of him has been placed in the Madras High Court in his memory! The Tamil kings and especially the Chola kings were the ones who always gave justice to anyone, so when we place the scepter they used at the center of this country, we believe that justice will be given to all the people without fail. Narendra Modi seems to have done this🙏👍.

My Mother used to read Kolaru Pathigam authored by Thirugnanasambandar on a daily basis due to suggestion by a renowned astrologer and scholar till her death. She used to ask me to recite too however owing to personal obligations and work was not able to. Wow! Just wow! I often chant the Kolaru Thirupathigam (loosely translates as "The Divine Song that destroys all evils") and have personally experienced its positive impact in my life. This is such a glorious and important piece of our history that shows how our civilisational heritage has been woven into the creation of the new nation state in so many more ways than we know. How was this not taught to us in school?! What a crime to keep this from the children of this civilisation and country! In the Chola kingdom, the transfer of power from one king to another was marked by the handing over of the Sengol, the unbending, intricately carved, golden staff. The Sengol was surmounted by the divine bull, Nandi, the vehicle of Lord Shiva. Nandi is a symbol of justice. The Sengol's orb, which symbolizes the world, is surmounted by a carving of Nandi. The word Sengol, derived from the Tamil word “Semmai”, literally means ‘righteousness’. The Nandi surmounting the golden Sengol also represents righteousness, and adherence to Dharma.

Because of colonization and Christianization of schools in India. Get out of church run schools and make your wards or if you are a minor, join yourself in local Hindu schools or those 'not related' to any church, madrassa or political party and see the difference. Amazing fact is till just a 100 years back there was Sanskrutam and Bhagvat Gita being taught in every corner of the country "under the British" ! Yes you heard it right "under the British rule" ....... What changed ? Post Independent India reins given to the Khangress and interplay of parivarvaadi self serving gundas in guise of political parties in India .... That's why exactly we lost our culture. Else *76 years post hard won independence would we not revert back to our age old civilizational roots ?* Thanks to corrupt Indians whom did treason that we see this day.

Because there's a lot of history which cannot be taught at school level. If interested, one should learn more history oneself or should pursue higher education in it. Frankly speaking, more than 90% of the population don't even know what Republic Day means and more than 99.9% of the population know the relevance of the day 26th Jan being chosen as the Republic Day. Cramming too much into academic textbooks will only make the students hate the subject even more
