This guy is way off the mark! Awakening senses? Feelings? Kingdom? Being filled with the Holy Spirit is not about feelings per se. It’s about Christ indwelling your Spirit so you can follow Him.....as a result of true repentance and accepting Him as your Saviour and Lord.

Follower JC , If you are a child of God and living obediently as his servant, in time, as you study the word and pray for understanding..... your senses will “tune in” and know when the Holy Spirit is close by. Spiritual strength grows from a Babe with milk to a man eating meat...hopefully. It only grows with study of the word. You can absolutely “feel” the strength and power of the Holy Spirit if it’s an environment he can draw near. Depending on the conversation he is speaking to you thru, some say it is like a strong invisible hand that takes control of your senses and moves you where it called you. (For most when called to the alter by the feelings sent to them thru hearing the words of the minister’s alter call)

Sharon T As a new born babe in Christ in the year 1976 at the age of 30 I was first introduced to a Charismatic church in my local town. Having spent several years before that searching for ‘something’ I got attracted to the esoteric, as in astral projection, New Age and anything which might thrill or tickle the senses. The emphasis on ‘tuning in’ was something I was familiar with, but now I was being taught to tune in to the Holy Spirit, which I did wholeheartedly. This comprised on learning to prophecy, give words of knowledge, pray for random people in the street, speaking in tongues, thirsting for signs and wonders. From there I got involved in the Apostolic Faith Movement, which was quite new in the 80’s. This entailed being taught to use one’s faith to heal and be healed, submitting to every word the local Apostle taught, tithing 10% of one’s meagre income and the bible teaching I received was mostly to undergird and prove that this was the only way for a Christian to live one’s life. I tuned in big time. Fast forward to the mid to late 90’s and everything I had engaged in church-wise turned on its head when the Toronto Blessing came to town. Everyone in church was barking like dogs, laughing hysterically, convulsing on the floor with uncontrollable jerking movements which lasted for hours. Except for me. Try as I might to want to throw myself into the latest spiritual fad, it didn’t happen. I think I was the only one who sobbed my eyes out. I thought there was something wrong with me. I got so disillusioned I left going to church altogether and found myself back in the world with a bang....which only brought me deeper sorrow at how easy it was to go back to one’s vomit and eat that. But in my distress I called out to the Lord, and He answered me in a sweet calm way. I realised that in the maelstrom I had been in all those years, I had gradually lost my First Love - Jesus. My first love had gradually been replaced and overturned with sensationalism, hanging onto prophecies out of anyone’s mouth, thirsty for anointing and signs and wonders...and the secret resting place of being in a deep relationship with my Lord and Saviour had been usurped. Now, when I came back to Him, there were no distractions. In the last 20 years I have mainly sat at His feet, read my bible and His Spirit is gentle but deep. No more frills and bells and sensations. I have learned a valuable lesson. Take heed that you learn to rest in Him and find the quiet place where you are no longer being swept on rollercoaster waves of doctrine which are forged by men, but simply just love and worship Him for who He is.

@@jenniebugs1 All these things are going on around us. I totally agree it all comes back to Jesus. Loving Him. All these things will pass away but these three remain. Faith Hope Love. We can be that clanging gong but do we have LOVE? Also it reminds me of elijah. He had to keep his eyes on Elisha going up, not the awesome flashy chariots. Thats just a really cool form of transport. All these things are awesome transport. But transport to who? To our Lord. Hes the goal, the prize, the Love of our lives.
