Two years after the original Zenith Night Surfer, we present its sequel - the Defy Skyline Skeleton Night Surfer El Primero. At first glance, you may feel like we did the exact same thing with a newer model. Just like the original Night Surfer included a slew of premiering elements for the Defy Classic Skeleton (including the micro-blasted titanium bracelet and case), the Night Surfer El Primero brings both fresh and familiar features to the Skyline Skeleton. The Night Surfer El Primero is also the first Skyline Skeleton to have a gradient-colour dial, and the first to incorporate luminous material into the bridges of the star motif on the dial.
Zenith have put their irrefutably distinct stamp on the Skyline with a 1/10th of a second counter in place of a traditional running seconds. With the new 5Hz El Primero 3620 SK, a 55-hour power reserve calibre with a silicon escapement, Zenith flexes their status as a master of high-beat movements. The 6 o’clock counter makes a full revolution every 10 seconds rather than every minute, just like the central seconds hands of their chronographs.

There are no silly questions, only silly answers 😉 Microblasted Titanium is a finish of regular Titanium, it is achieved by shooting or „blasting“ the case and bracelet with millions of tiny particles to create a micro-texture that absorbs light reflections and creates a matte surface. Imagine small irregularities that soak up the light but are still smooth to the touch, kind of like the surface of a sage leaf.

really, really love the design of both editions. with 100 made it's just sad that so few will ever get to see one let alone buy one. the defy skyline wears huge for its dimensions because of the case shape - it's tough to pull off as a daily for someone with an under 7" wrist (like me) so I'm less annoyed than I might otherwise be about the inaccessibility. otherwise, I really loved the lumed star logo of the last version so sad you dropped it.

I'm sure it will sell out... but no date and a 10 sec hand... that's form over function. It does look better than the first. So if form is your higher goal, then you nailed it. Maybe the trilogy will combine both.

my initial thoughts when i first saw this was no way, but as the video went on i started to like it more. i love the screw down crown and the quick release for the strap/bracelet. i am one of the lucky 100 with a night surfer and i have to say i favor that dial better. the movement for this piece is nice and the 1/10 dial at the 6 is a pretty neat trick but useless at the end of the day. i find this dial a little more confusing to my eye vs the night surfer defy. if i had to rank it, i'd give it a 60/100 but like i said at the beginning, it could grow on me and hence could get a higher score after some time to digest it. I have to admit I was so excited when i saw the video come up but was a little horrified when i first saw it, lol.

⚠️ I think it’s absolutely beautiful, but the only qualm I have is by putting loom on the bridges of the star motif it blends with the white on the hands and makes it a little more difficult to read. That is the only drawback I see at all. Aside from that it is beautiful, futuristic and sporty! Good job 👍🏼

I do really like this approach! I own a defy skyline skeleton in stainless steel (with the blue skeleton motif in the dial) and the two things I’d improve upon it would be weight and size. For your limited edition, you handled the weight with the titanium, but the size could have been smaller (possibly a 39mm or 38mm). Lastly, I would have liked to see a thinner case; I know the movement calls for a certain thickness, but a micro rotor could have fixed that. I’d give an overall score of 80/100. I love the collab and love Zenith, if I had the extra cash, I’d buy this!

Really hot, but personally I would have kept the lumed star and removed the lume from the skeleton dial star. I think it is a little bit distration to the lumed indecies and hands.
