I never tied a fly in my life but it's very relaxing watching you tie these George.

It can be Vinnie at times,not so when you might have to tie 20 dozen of the same pattern.

This is not an easy fly to tie, time consuming compared to others. I would really not be enthused to tie 20 dozen, even for a customer. But, I agree with you, it is a great effective paternity. I just added you to my subscription list! Thanks.

Try ancient Chinese spring roll. ..keeps materials secure and out of the way while tying🙏😑

You should try a toenail clippers to cut the wire with, they are cheap and do a good job of it on the tying bench. Save the edge on your scissors. Alls try putting your UV resin on a sticky pad, I keep one on my bench for that purpose and use your bodkin to apply the resin where you need it. You will have more control and less mess that way. I like the fly, it's simple , cheap and quick to tie, so you don't mind losing flies. If you are not losing flies you are not fishing.

I use a different scissors for cutting wire,I keep the other for thread feather etc.

Great pattern a chara. One question: Every time I tie this I am clumsy with the UV resin and get it on the thorax and the antennae. Is there any reason you couldn't do the body, apply and cure the resin and then do the parts with the pheasant tail and hare's ear?
@springerspanielful5 жыл бұрын
No Liam, no reason whatever,it can be done exactly as you've described,it would alleviate the issue you describe.Thanks for the interaction,slán tamaill a chara.

At the 3:50 mark you attempt to describe the body material that you use (Is it yarn? what make?)) so I'm using this here I got it in them sewing and crafts shop but any material.... A very feeble attempt at a description.
