@@KingOfThePirates101they were in the harem together. Yanwan served Jai at a small point of time. Jai being Jai obviously abusive and crazy evil as she was, Yanwan got up outa there when she could. Catching the emperor’s eye and ranking up with seducing Him. (he’s a weak man). But through time Jai was her own downfall even tho it was Yanwan who framed her. I do believe Jai was good at the game but Yanwan was The Game lol she got everything she wanted in the end even though she died 🤣

He goes far beyond ignoring though,he also got involved in some of the scheming that befalls the consorts. Like this sickly consort here,Hui Gui Fei,it was mentioned that the Emperor deliberately asked the imperial physician to mess with her prescription so that she would slowly get weak and die without any unwanted suspicion from her family. Later he also asked an infertile drug(disguised as a vitamin for pregnancy) to be given to one of the consort chosen by the Empress Dowager, Shu Fei, simply bc he didn't want the Dowager to gain control over him through that consort

@@magicwandstudio3141 Hui was infertile because of Empress (not Empress Dowager). Shu was made infertile because of the Emperor. He thought that because Empress Dowager had chosen her, that if she had a child Empress Dowager could gain power over him through that. As for what Empress Dowager did to Hui, she had the physicians tamper with her medicine because she was involved in marrying her daughter to a far-off tribe, I think.
