I remember playing the closed Alpha for this as a tester and it was incredibly difficult to just survive, even on the lowest settings. The Ai would cheat way too much and was relentless at sending huge armies (which the player couldn't ever match) that would just rip through any defences you had and kill all the engineers, never retreating.....meaning you couldn't even continue. On the rare occasion you managed to expand out and survey the resources, the Ai was already built up to around 75% of the map with the late game units. I Really liked the style of the game, the graphics and I see they've done a lot of polishing from back then. So it should make for an entertaining series. And if anyone can beat ultra hard god-mode games, its Nivarias.

I remember I played settler on nintendo DS when I was young, made me crazy because I didn't understand how to launch an attack, even when I had a lot of soldier. Style the game is cute, I'm happy to watch you play to it !

amazing and entertaining gameplay :) i really love the looks of this game. I try not to play so much myself but i do love watching. I have a question, sometimes it seems you know a lot more then i would assume the avarage person would when playing a map or game. Do you do any research, or play test or do you actually just go in blind? Its super well done in any case what so ever

Biggest gripe I have about this game is the fact that you can run out of resources on the map

the tutorial is a little extreme (without tips). I dont know how good is now, but when Ubisoft launched it, was bad. I feel nostalgic for settles 1 and 2, and now i want to play again...

@Nivarias The comments are destroying this game on steam. Very mixed reviews so far as it appears a lot of depth is missing in the gameplay. I will follow on it, if the devs keep on adding to it, but for a 60bucks release, pissing so many people off does not seem like it's a good investment for me.

IMHO The franchise died from The Settlers 5 as they killed some of the gameplay features that the trillogy from TS 1 to 4 had continuosly. Even the art style changed. Idk whether it was a different director or the shareholders that want the new continuation of the game to be more "realistic" without some of the franchise features. I know some will ask me for example so i miss the shovel settlers that always went to level the terrain so the construction could progress further.

Not sure what to think of it now deluxe edition is 109$ aud is it worth it also there are in game purchases like the credits 79$aud also it's Ubisoft not sure about the servers for the online i think I wait for the sell discount.

You can easily see how BAD this game is, peaceful settling on an empty map, building the settlement and after a few min there is a scripted attack??? Only possible cause there is only a handfull maps available and not generated maps, enemies are not reacting on ur behavior.. and so on.... im soooo disappointed by this "game"
