Would have been good to see an application of each if you’re claiming their usefulness. Just another bunch of knots really. Nicely presented video. First few are just joining knots. Double ring knot looks like a good fishing lure knot, would like to know how strong it is.

Extremely strong. We use it on boats to fix ropes to sails (or anything really). It doesn’t untie and yet it remains easy to undo because it doesn’t tighten under stress. Only difference I was taught the version with one ring. I guess they work the same but tbh I don’t know what is the purpose of making the ring double.

Great video, but who is commonly using them and for what? Personally I like using a bowline. Great for towing a car without getting on the ground

In my former rock climbing days, figure 8 and water knot were the go to knots. And there was a fancy one called a pro sic (sp?) to ascend a rope in an emergency situation. Still use the figure 8 and the always easy square knot. Oh, I once tied the knot and I’m still tied up 😮

I need too tie knots every now and then. They come in handy and for some reason a purposeful knot is intriguing to me what it looks like and can accomplish. So why me being in Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts the only not I can tie is a square knot. It's usually a slip knot I need and everytime I tie one I have to make several attempts and usually I come up with something different every time. But when I stumble on to something that works I can never remember it. And before anyone thinks or comments. Yes. I can tie my shoes 😆
