The cyclical spiral as you read Father reminds me of the mathematical representation of Fibonacci Series also known as Fingerprint of God. I find it very interesting and uniquely presents the continuity of His presence throughout past, present and future.

Ευλογείτε πάτερ! Father, when we see our neighbor who is void of Christ, or any knowledge of Orthodox Christianity, and we have pain of heart, wishing for everyone to have the consolation and reassurance of the church, is it wise to speak to them about the second coming of our Lord? To point them in the direction of Elder Athanasios, and have them read his words concerning the book of Revelation? Not to scare them, or cause them to become despondent, but to awaken in them that good uneasiness and sobriety. Would you recommend pursuing this route? Or, as indicated by Metropolitan Neophytos in your interview with him, point them first in the direction of the lives of the saints, specifically contemporary ones, and then from there the reading of the Gospels and of the Bible in its entirety? May God keep you! Thank you, Father!

It looks like Ἔρχου καὶ βλέπε is what you find in the Textus Receptus in verses 1 and 3, so that may explain the discrepancy between the English and the Greek in the translations.

Yes, indeed, the problem is with what manuscript source each is using.

Fr., I have a question and it’s important. When Jesus Christ said “Why do you call me a Good person only God is good” Correct me if I’m wrong… He’s saying that only He is Good. Meaning none of us are really good unless we have him.. Right? But, how many of us really have him? Aren’t most of us just indifferent? In America what I have noticed Father is that we are completely indifferent towards our pagan culture and even justify it. Most don’t even know Orthodoxy exists. Most the Orthodox churches are full of Old people. The young don’t care and when the young does show up the Old act like they own the Church of Christ and decide who can Repent and who can’t. Now Maybe I’m causing problems. But what the hell am I supposed to do? The Jesus prayer is good. Indeed. But, what about the heresy in the church? Why is everyone screaming peace and we have no peace? This is straight out the book of Ezekiel.

What are you to do? What does the Lord say? What did the saints do, in other, similar ages, of worldliness and apostasy? They went deeper, were purified, illumined and became lights unto their generation. . . As for the indifference to heresy: indeed, this is indicative of secularization. But our response always must be BOTH-AND: both dogma and ethos, faith and life, outlook and life-work. . . Otherwise nothing will change. Hence, there are presuppositions for the removal of, and overcoming of, the heretical mindset.

Everything is done for good by God. With the Father there is only peace. And we are simply to remember Him through His Son Jesus Christ and to do this we repent for our sins and forgive the sins of others. And the comforter is sent, the Holy Spirit, finding us so to makes us His Children again. Again and again. Ceaselessly. This is the Love of God.

@@Orthodoxi Ezekiel 13:10-11 10 Because they have deceived My people, saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ and there is no peace; and one builds a wall, and they plaster it-it shall certainly fall.† 11 Say to those who plaster it, ‘It will fall,’ for there shall be flooding rain; and I will send hailstones against its joints, and it shall fall; and a wind will rise up and break it down. 13:10-11 Christ condemns the Pharisees with similar language, calling them “whitewashed tombs” (Mt 23:27), while Paul calls the high priest Ananias a “whitewashed wall” (Acts 23:3). They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace. - Jeremiah 6:14 Commodian AD 260 The time spoken about has come to our people. There is peace in the world and, at the same time, ruin is weighing us down from the enticement of the world-the destruction of the reckless people whom you have torn into schism. Either obey the law of the city, or leave it. You see the speck sticking in our eyes and do not even notice the beam in your own. A treacherous peace is coming to you. Persecution is rife although the wounds are hidden, and thus, without slaughter, you are destroyed. War is waged in secret because, in the midst of peace, scarcely one of you has exhibited even a hint of caution. O badly fortified and foretold for slaughter, you praise a treacherous peace-a peace that will do you more harm than good. Having become the soldiers of another than Christ, you have perished.

I’m telling you this. King David wasn’t indifferent when he heard what Goliath was doing. Last I checked the Savior flipped the Tables in the Temple. Which… historians say would be “Impossible” hahah… they say the temple guards would have killed him instantly. Well, they eventually had him crucified but as we know… Christ defeated Death by Death 💀 But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof. - Daniel 2:9 The magi confess, along with the soothsayers----and all secular learning concurs----that foreknowledge of |26 the future lies not in man's province but in God's. By this test it is proved that the prophets who proclaimed things to come spoke by the Spirit of God. - Saint Jerome (420 AD) ¶ The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean. - Daniel 2:10 And they say, There is not a man. Whereas, therefore, they declared it to be impossible that what was asked by the king should be told by man; God showed them, that what is impossible with man is possible with God. -Saint Hippolytus of Rome (235 AD)

Isn’t the spirit of discipleship to have righteous judgements? Why would the Fathers write critiques if we are not to critique this pagan culture!? “Don’t judge anyone” that’s indifferent and humanistic. Feels as if people are getting the sin and the sinner confused. The sin is indifference.
