A detail Stephanie didn’t include that pissed me the fuck off is that the volunteer’s equipment was cut and mutilated, presumably by the official coast guard, to make it seem like they don’t know what they were doing. They also tried to chase the boats away from the ship. The coast guard put MORE EFFORT into STOPPING OTHERS FROM SAVING THE KIDS. Also, for more context, “I don’t remember” was the captain’s answer for at least 90% of the questions during the trial.

I got mad when she said the adults were saying "whats wrong with these kids?" for making jokes on the boat sinking,they can't just stand there terrified for their life the entire time! They had to cope and atleast have a little bit of smiles before they are gone.

Soldiers, medical staff etc. we all deal with tragedy different. We make jokes, they seem totally inappropriate to others but that's how we cope. I totally understand those kids

What I didn’t understand was, they know the titanic, probably saw the movie, didn’t they remember how desperate everyone was to get on top of the ship, the deck? Maybe this sounds cold, but even without the knowledge we have, knowing that movie should have shown them, don’t stay put, get out and on deck.
@leigh80672 ай бұрын
@@Ateezwooyoung more than half of the passengers were16 year olds who trusted the adults to guide them. the titanic sank in 1912 and the movie was released in 1997. idk how titanic is relevant here when the government and the media failed those kids. not you victim blaming lol

@@Ateezwooyoungand I'm sure it'sfrustrating for you to hear what happened in this tragedy but remember that's not the whole point. Even tho the kids knows or the passenger knows what happened in those Titanic movies it is not the same . Titanic was only an adaptation of a movie yes it happens in real life.. but can you actually imagine yourself in a situation of flight or fight mode of a dying situation where authority people doesn't really care for your life.. and you just trying to have a hope on someone that supposed to have an experienced on their job in those situation ??like think about it ?? All this happens because of a ego and pride of this authority people who's not only incompetence but selfish and unresponsibility overall just lack of empathy and sick people. Think about that.. you missing the point but I'm sure you try your best because I think you will probably the one who will not follow the rules and just go outside to the deck because it seem odd right that's why you only focus on that perspective.

To be honest with you, I'm glad you chose this video to react. It's really detailed. The video created by Italian ARMY's is more graphic, showing footage of the tragedy. You don't want to see those parents crying and begging the coast guard not to stop rescuing their children. It's heartbreaking. Imagine watching your child dying 😢

I'm Thai. During the tragedy, I kept refreshing twitter like crazy, hoping for news of students and the adults helping them to make it back to shore. I was mad as hell since I can see that the officials aren't helping and I believe you know what I mean. I kept refreshing and refreshing. At the time, if you want real time updates, it's twitter. I can't describe the feeling, waiting for updates, and later on the funerals, flowers left on desks at school for their missing classmates. It's extremely heartbreaking but I will not forget that this happened.

This was horrible. Even with the reasons presented, I'm still stuck asking why. Tragedy everywhere. Hurricane Helene and the abandoned in the US state of North Carolina. At least with Hurricane Milton, people are choosing to stay in their homes in Tampa, Florida.

Unfortunately those last five bodies will never be found. The ship was salvaged and that’s it. The bodies are gone completely decomposed.
@okokoklalala8443 ай бұрын
Wanna know something even more crazy? The fact that it took more than 14 hours for the ship to fully sink was probably because of everything and everyone that was inside. I know things with a lot of mass sinks fast, but imagine all the buoyant cargo and all the floating bodies with life jackets INSIDE the ship being the only reason why it was being held up for so long.

I was 13 when this happened, and i heard about it after school and i just remember reading some of the last text that the parents showed news media and it was just depressing. I always wondered how this could've happened cause there should always be safety procedures for any situation that could happen and how did everyone (other than the people who died) mess up so bad to let this happened.

I really love how Sthephanie tells stories. Her team is great, and her voice always carries the empathy and enthusiasm she has for these things. That people know these stories is a way to pressure people in charge not to try hiding their mistakes and, hopefully, so they don't make the same mistakes again. It's horrible how they stood by and let these kids die. This should not be forgiven, and especially, it should not be forgotten.

You should react to the documentary „the frog boys“, if you haven’t. Another disgusting incident in Korea, with cover ups and bs… involving five young boys, between 9 and 13 years old, vanishing in 1991 and their bodies being discovered in 2002, near a South Korean army base. Bulletholes in their bodies, skull… Notable in the 1970‘ South Korea made it nearly impossible for civilians to own firearms, The possession of firearms is strictly limited to public officials who are required to possess firearms in performing their line of duty (members of the police and armed forces and other law enforcement officers)… There is a two part documentary here on KZbin and it’s just as insane as this.

One of the reasons BTS are allowed to get so much shit ( including Hybes treatment by the National Assembly) by the present government which is also right wing like president Park, they blame BTS for the world wide focus their song SPRING DAY kept on Sewol. SPRING DAY has never been out of the charts.BTS also donated 80,000 for the families campaign. That was when the company was still financially strapped.

Remembering that there were hundreds of adults on this boat.... Most of the boat was children but there were TONS of adults..... And no one went to the cockpit to be like "where are all the people who are supposed to be working here??"; none of them went to the deck after hours and waving down helicopters and boats, or looking for flares and setting them off? No one was finding evacuation boats? were there none on board at all? Or did anybody go look? there's a lot of questions that I feel like make it so that this could never happen if it was filled with Americans. Just a cultural difference (primarily in obedience).😢😢
