Yes. Water is coming to SFS, and here's how.
We have seen a lot of Stef's sneak peeks, so here are 3 important things about the water update: Water Generation, Terrain, and Editables.
Moving on to the first part, water physics is pretty realistic. World generation is also good, producing continents, dry continents, and small islands. All of these are generated by something we will discuss in part 3. Stef completed the wave physics, just a couple of days ago, there are also gradients, and much more realistic stuff.
In the second part, Stef is not allowing parachutes to deploy above an ocean 2.5km deep, which may be a piece of bad news for some users. One last hope is something that will be covered in part 3.
Parachutes will not be able to deploy underwater, reasonably, and rockets will explode if they crash too fast into water.
Moving on to the last part, we have editables of the game.
SFS Worlds are generated by one default noise texture, which you may manipulate or make your own.
You will also get to edit colors of various things from sand, deep ocean, etc. The last hope for capsule splashdown may be the unit that parachutes can deploy above an ocean. Stef promised to add a couple more editable values, although that parachute unit it not yet confirmed. What we do know is that you can modify ocean depths, lower terrain(the ocean is -?m), etc.
I forgot to add how the water looks like in map view into this video, so please find it in the last video:
