I really loved Patrick's reply to his question because I think he's actually really right, like the Fold is this thing that is tearing Nikolai's beloved country apart and he can't wait to destroy it but at the same time, he knows that if the Fold did get destroyed, the real work would start from then and that he'd essentialy inherit a throne to a country that is so deeply wounded he doesn't know if it can be fixed.

I LOVE Dani's answer! Inej is so deeply authentic that she like only accepts to meet people on that level of emotional honesty and authentic depth. And she does with Kaz, but because he noticed he can't trick her and fake it or play a game. And for Kaz, Inej is more important than his armour, so he accepts it to meet her on the same authentic level even though it's scary for him to be vulnerable I guess. I knew that because everyone who read the books does, but Danielle put it so beautifully and fitting into words. It just felt like "wow she's so right!" What I love most about Inej is that she's so secure about herself but in a believing and peaceful kind of way and that she's always true to herself like that's her core. And seeing the good and the meaning in life. I've never came to the connection that that's the reason she "forces" people to meet her on a same high authentic level as well.

Your response is so beautiful! My favorite thing about Inej has always been that she‘s strong in a quiet way. As someone who tends to be shy and soft-spoken, Inej inspires to me believe in myself a little bit more.
