Heartbreaking to see so many ordinary people who don't want any of this, having their lives destroyed. God Bless all concerned 🙏

Once more I woke up to see that while I was asleep ATL was being busy like a New Years Eve Santa!❤💚 This was a great upload showing the grief and pain of the Unionist side. Very humane documentary, though Mayhew and others were wrong IMO, the words of ordinary people were so touching. 💚🙏🏻

@@ATroubledLand No my friend you didn't put a damper on it at all! I'll never forget it, I was on the Shankill road at an anniversary event not so long ago, and a woman gave me a pin saying "The Shankill remembers" that random act of kindness and her words of "I'm so sorry for what happened to you and others" that broke me a bit inside, it took me a while to bounce back from that. I asked her how much money did she want for the cost of the pin? She said "nothing", I insisted but again she said "I don't want a penny so I don't and I won't take it." But at the same time it made me realise there is more goodness in humanity than evil, I'll always believe that but it just reinforced it and gave me hope that the events of the past will never repeat themselves. I'm not surprised you got emotional mate, as did I; I still get emotional about it to this day, I can describe the way the bodies moved on the ambulance stretchers (although they were obviously deceased) what they looked like, how they felt, the way they moved, the smell of the whole scene, the utter chaos, an RUC sergeant crying his eyes out while looking at a twin pram with two deceased twin babies in it, I still recall the horrific injuries they had and the pure horror of that awful day. The younger generation or two just don't understand how awful major incidents like this were and how god damn awful the aftermath was. I seriously hope they wake up and realise that this wasn't some sort of video game that they play today but real life for real people, and the impact on real people, not some computer A.I. Another incident I'l never forget was the murder of PC Stephen Carroll in 2009, no matter how you feel about the police at the end of the day we are all human beings, I witnessed his murder first hand. Over the years people like me never forget what real gunfire sounds like, (not the video game or Hollywood bullshit), the smell of gun powder, cordite, and blood; the copper taste of blood in your mouth and nose, the sound of bullets landing around and going past you. The impact it makes upon hitting a vehicle, the sound of glass being smashed by a 7.62x39 round, the noise the bullet made when it hit PC Carroll in the rear right side of his head, the sound of his skull being ripped open, that crack is again another god awful thing I'll never forget, I wish I didn't hear the sound of the bullet hitting his skull, smashing it open like an easter egg. Sorry for the rant, I hope you've had a nice time mate. There is something I want to talk to you about privately, just message me whenever you have 5 minutes mate. Edit: some of the things I've said have never been made public as far as I'm aware so that's how you know I'm not feeding you or others a load of bullshit. Take care buddy and your family too. This is possibly the most horrific and mind churning comment I have ever read on the channel. How you describe the events around the murder of PC Carroll - I have no words. Thank you for sharing this with me and others. I hope your horrific experiance and how you told it sticks in minds and perhaps helps persuade others away from the gun.

@@ATroubledLand Sorry mate, I wish people would realise that's the horror of evil intents actions. I could add more details but I won't, that's the point in sharing it, I hope it does stop someone from going down that road; I'm sure we've all listened to the odd rebel song or two but the younger generation see it through rose tinted glasses and my god it was nothing of the sort. The constant tension, the fear at times, checking under your car just in case, that knock or ring of the door bell at night, is it a delivery man, a family member, friend or a couple of so called hard men from X paramilitary wearing balaclavas holding submachine guns about to gun you down in front of your family. No one talks about the glory in killing an innocent man in front of his children in their rebel songs. To those out their now and thinking about going down the wrong road I'll say this, I wish you could see the things I've seen, I wish my heart could forget what my eyes have seen, I wish you could see the various scars I have all over my body, I wish you could see the nightmares I dream of every night, the horror that unfolds in my mind, some nights I shout, scream, punch and kick all in my sleep, how I lay down at night my heart rate nearly triples because I know what awaits me. Today I suppose you would call it PTSD, but for me and many others that survived the troubles and after the so called end of the troubles "it's just one of those things we live with." Now think about that because if you go down the wrong road you'll be wishing you wised up. Some of you know who I am and what I am for those that don't, I chose one of the right roads to go down, I don't have any love or respect for so called paramilitaries because they're both two heads of the same coin. I've always wanted to bring and end to the troubles and make damn sure it stays ended.

I was only 9 when it happened. Remember it well in 1992, Northern Ireland was in a really desperate and terrible situation at this point with all these killings in a short space of time. I believe it was brought back from the brink, and still the violence continued.
