The Sheaffer Legacy circa 2005 Fountain Pen

Only just saw this; I too was reconnecting with a Sheaffer Legacy I acquired in '97. It's black with a gold band, the main two differences between it and yours are :(1) top-of-cap and bottom-of-barrel are squared off and segue into a round shape (circling the square, as it were); and (2) the filling mechanism is touch-down, harking back to a pre-snorkel pneumatic design of the early '40s. Outwardly, it's a faithful re-do of the '59 PFM, but heavier, as it's all metal. Also it's not a snorkel fill like the PFM. Nice review.

I'm looking for a Sheaffer Legacy II with a broad nib. I love the Sheaffer inlaid nib so much, in fact I already have the gold plated Targa in barleycorn guilloche exclusively for my diary, I want more of its kind. Visits to pen stores with vintage ones might satisfy this need, eBay has too few. Even the name is evocative.

Absolutely love vintage Sheaffer pens. I have 4 Lady Sheaffers. I'd love to find a Legacy or PFM. I found it easier to find vintage desk pens so I do have half dozen of those both in Touchdown and converter style.

I have been using a 1988 Sheaffer Targa since buying it then, the nib only needed replacing last year. Amazing pen , but Sheaffer's new owners did not honor the life time warranty !

Hello Berk, thanks so much for the kind words and feedback. I am working through a lot of technical issues. I am filming these with just my phone. I just upgraded to the 13 Pro Max so I have a bit better capabilities, but I still need to learn them. So please bear with me. I am learning and trying. No one wants to see my hand, not even me!

I think there’s some kinda mistakes here..the model is Sheaffer Legacy Palladium Deep Cut 9035 and it was released in 2003...

Hemingway hello again. I'm torn between a Legacy I with a broad nib and a Legacy II in chromium with a medium nib. The Legacy II is quite sung on the net, is there a difference in the writing experience between the two models, or does the only difference lie in the cap and barrel? My only experience with Sheaffer is with the Targa.

A Broad on this model must be incredibly wet and wide. This is one of my widest and wettest Mediums, so take that into consideration. Good Luck and all the best.

@@HemingwayJones vintage Sheaffers were imprinted Sheaffer'S and vintage Waterman pens were imprinted Waterman'S. Also your title is spelled 'ae' not 'ea' . Mostly I was just being a smart-pass. My apologies.
