That was great that you saved the moth. I was out in the water on my paddle board just a bit north of Malibu many years ago, and came across hundreds of Lady Bugs floating in the water! I loaded as many as I could coral onto my board and brought them ashore. Found a huge grouping of them on the literal peak of a 7000’ mountain one time as well.

When I ride on the Southwest Coast of Florida (Naples, Sanibel, Captiva Island and also in the Florida Keys) they are super friendly and come right up and jump in front of the ski too! I like to swim along side as the ski is cutting the water for them which makes them not swim as hard to maintain a fast speed!
