@jdhatl YES. If they spent the entire AA session listening and talking about The Shins I'd never drink again.

Reminds me a bit of morning teleportation. An amazing song.

holy cow, I had no idea they did a cover of this song. I like The Shins as much as the next guy, but I definitely like the original better. It always makes me want to dance :)

I'm in love with this song right now. It's nothing musically spectacular, but it's still great, you know? I think it's become an addiction to it now...don't forget to check out the original by Tenement Halls :)

so was this cover done by the old shins, or the new shins with Ron Lewis and Joe Plummer?

I still love the shins, but to my hear they were a totally different band back in the early days, I still think they are great but it was a different, and preferable, sound back then :)

Absolutely, Fred. After "Wincing The Night Away" they hit the deck. Should have titled it "Wincing The Band Away" because he departed from the guys who he created The Shins with to pursue a different sound afterwards.. and it wasn't on good terms. shame. at least it is everlasting.

Hayden H Yeah! Thanks for the reply! I have always wanted to know why because it sounds like they had it made! For me port of Morrow really didn’t sound like a shins album, the hearts work is a set back to the good old days I think

okay that link wouldn't work but feel free to check out my "Classic Shins" playlist on this channel. Maybe you've heard all of it or most but there's some good late 90's stuff on there from The Shins! Cheers!

Anyone know where I can find this song? Apparently is was a cover off a compilation limited to 7,500 units and have found no other source for the song.
@JensKlitN10 жыл бұрын
Yeah, very late response but you might still wnat to know, the original is made by a guy called Tenement Halls and the song is from the album "Knitting needles and bicycle bells"

Well... If you were expecting the Shins to add edge to an already indie song... I think you set yourself up for disaster there :D Favorite song at the moment, however.

What a nonsense comment. Independent music can't be 'edgy'? Also, plenty of Shins songs have dark and complex subtexts.You must have a very shallow perspective on music.
@MrKleenexDude12 жыл бұрын
The Shins aren't edgy, they're melancholy. Dark doesn't explicitly mean edgy. Edgy is melancholy's less subtle brother.

Lopez's version = only version. This one sounds like a cat food commercial.
