Hello Phil, Macphersons has always been a quality paint, Before I retired I used to work in the painting and repairs department at Gateshead Council, part of my role was to work with Specifiers from the major paint manufacturers, I have always thought that cost and quality wise Macphersons has always value.for money.

I get 5L of this for about £25 at my local suppliers in north London. 10L for £40. You wont beat those prices. Used absolutely tons of this stuff, excellent for ceilings and coving, goes on well, dries uniform, great stuff at a great price. Only problems I've ever had are on all-white new plaster where recent 10L containers have lacked opacity over mistcoat and have taken up to 4 coats to look solid. The same could be said for other durable matts in white though. I find this paint works amazingly in RAL 9010 and similar off-whites.

The durable matt has more or less become my go to emulsion for most tasks, especially as I get it for a good price but more to the point its closer to the old vinyl matt, the new vinyl matts out there are more like contract or retail emulsions, i.e., they are just not as wipeable as they were. I highly recommended the durable matt. Im glad youve giving it a shout out Phil

Top quality gear. Just had another delivery today from Paint Monster/Glenwood Decorating. Keeps a nice wet edge as it doesn't dry just by looking at it, dries lovely and uniform. Covers extremely well. Can get it mixed in thousands of colours. A very consistent quality product. Brilliant.

The Leyland trade durable Matt pretty good especially in colours, as a cheap durable it's about the same price as Johnstone vinyl matt. Excellent colour matching at johnstones dec centres to all brands. Leyland durable Matt also a dead flat finish which helps poorer surfaces. I was hesitant to try it but impressed 👍🏻

For the professional, I found Arroworthy to be crap in general for brushes and overpriced and very short lasting. The classic is suited more to the D.I.Yer that doesn't hold any paint without dripping all over the place. The yellow Rembrant loses shape very quickly but as a stiff brush is great for pebble dash and very rough walls. So as usual, from the professionals view, we have learned nothing from thus video, only promotion of brands by Phil unfortunately. The brands own him now.

What’s your favourite 2” sash cut brush?
@leezeraloe38213 күн бұрын
British Oldfields or Australian Monarchs. Oldfield's angle cut in 2 inch is a great brush in anything. 2 inch Monarchs straight cut, thick profile, a legend.

Arrowworthys are always really nice out the box, but your lucky to get a a month out of them before they're knackered. Hold barely any paint either My faves are oldfields, hold loads, wash well and last ages

@@leezeraloe3821 I’ll get some Oldfields when I need new brushes then. I’ve got 3 cut in brushes and the paint warrior one is my preferred brush out of the three. The other 2 are the arroworthy classic and the Wooster ultra… I’m not a pro mind you but the arroworthy one is a bit of a pain to clean and the although the Wooster is a firm brush on the packet I find it to be pretty soft compared to my paint warrior brush
