Do you know how many restaurants fail in the first 5 years? 80%! According to the National Restaurant Association. Just watched my neighbor do a build out on a teriyaki restaurant. He didn't even make it 2 years. Another acquaintance who was lucky to sell their restaurant but the people who took it over have been struggling. They have to use food delivery service and they take 15-30%. On top of that if you don't own the space that your restaurant sits on you've got a huge amount of overhead! Space rent, equipment cost and repairs. Food costs fluctuate cutting in to your bottom line. Labor cost! So there's never a moment of peace running a restaurant you're always struggling to get the taxes paid and make payroll.
