I got the 16in macbook pro for video editing and photo editing. It's amazing...it flys... no regrets switching from windows

What did you end up going with?
@camkeena687410 күн бұрын
i'm a little confused because you keep switching the terms. The m4 pro chip is the one with the 12 core cpu and the 14 core gpu like you said but it comes with a minimum of 24gb of ram instead of the 16gb you claim to have in yours. You keep using the terms m4 and m4 pro interchangeably can you tell me which one in particular you featured in this video?

Good question, I’m referring to the Base Model $1600 MacBook Pro. Not the MacBook Pro M4 Pro chip. I’ll add it to my description so future viewers can know the one I’m talking about. Thanks for the feedback 🤙🏼

Konnichiwa from Japan! Dope review mate. Did you notice any fan noise while editing in FCP?
@TonysTopPicks7 күн бұрын
Going to be honest here, I did not notice them turn on. But I do edit with Noise cancelling headphones on to stay focused. I’ll get back to you today on this when I get back from work.

@@TonysTopPicks I went to my local Apple store today to check out the 14" & 16" MBPs...I almost have my mind set on the 14" but I'm conflicted because I've seen reviews that the 16" fan is quieter and that the 14" fans tend to ramp up faster/louder..but those were during the benchmark tests. I'd like to know how they do during FCP editing. Looking forward to the result!

Great video man thanks. I was torn between 14 or 16 inch and decided to go 14 so it’s less cumbersome. Can’t wait to get it in

I have a 16’’ M3 Pro and always had 15’’ and 16’’. I would strongly suggest to anyone working on the laptop outside plugging it to an external monitor, to go with the 16’’. It’s wayyyyy more confortable, especially for multitasking and working on excel, etc. Yes it’s bigger and a bit heavier, but it’s not like the 14’’ is a light laptop either :-) It sill a working tool and choice should be made to suit the user needs prior to a matter to gain a bit of weight and size. I’ve never encountered any problem to work on the train or at least an hour in the car everyday when my wife is driving. Not to mention, when I want to work outside or in the living room. And when it’s on my knees in the couch, I don’t have to close my legs like I would with the 14’’. Don’t give me wrong, I love the 14’’ and I am about to order one for my event company, but for everyday work use, I’ll go with my 16’’ for sure !

@@DidierWolfs I have it the MacBook connected to a ultrawide monitor for when I do my edits, but I plan on doing a video on the iPad as a screen mirror. Saw an Amazon product that lets u attach it to your MacBook like MagSafe, I think that would be a fun idea to explore for sure.

@@TonysTopPicks Certainly, but that becomes bulky to have the laptop + ipad at a café or in the car :-) I also have 49’’ Samsung monitors (1 at my office and 1 at my home office) :p

Can you Edit 8k Videos with the M4 Pro?
@TonysTopPicks10 күн бұрын
Yes you can. Only thing I recommend is doing it on clips of 5 minutes or less. I noticed it tends to start heating up after the 2 minute rendering mark.

I settled my internal conflict. I end up buying Legion 7i i9 14th gen RTX 4070 and MacBook Pro M4 16 Pro chip. I do research and other productivities as a scientist/chemist and I game occasionally on my leisure time. I could not let my mind commit to one OS. However, my Lenovo 7i outshines my M4 in several benchmarks but the battery life of M4 is fantastic and I love the screen especially for streaming movies on the M4. I carry around my M4 to work but when I go home I use my Lenovo.
