After living and traveling in Africa for a few months, I've found that living a comfortable middle class lifestyle is possible on a fraction of the cost of living in North America or Europe. From Canada, i lived in Kenya a while ago. In in my opinion this is nothing compared to the the luxury homes and apartments i saw in Kenyan neighborhoods. It's more of a normal working population area. The pricing is outrageous without a green space or a large balcony or terrace.

A while back there was this lady lived in Tanzania and said you can get a house for $80 a month that video completely mess up the game because when you went to Tanzania those prices immediately went to 800-1200 dollars. All I can say is don't mess up the game y'all go there and negotiate lower than $600 . Never rent an apartment in desperation where you have to take $600 go there and suggest that apartment starting at $120 a month. If you don't do this, the entire game is about to be crashed and we all going to end up paying two thousand three thousand dollars a month. Nairobi is not Dubai. Have 120 people go through is say they want those apartments for $120 and immediately the prices are going to go down instead of go up. Don't be afraid to leave negotiation but I'm most definitely not paying $600 in Nairobi

In a way your right.... I'm From Nairobi, 120 is very less depending on location....that will give you a small apartment in downtown areas....600$ on the other hand is for rich neighborhoods, high end ..but my opinion, it's not worth it .... around 250$ you'll get a decent place....

The Lang'ata neighborhood is where I'm from. My parents have a house in the area. This is an example of the type of middle class housing I was referring to in the earlier video. These Trident Park apartments are more affordable. The interesting thing would be to compare the 18 million Kenyan shillings (around $127,000) quoted by Christine for the apartment, if one were to buy it, with a more upscale area to see just how good of a deal it is or not. My feeling is that it's still a bit high but I've not been in Kenya for a while so I'm not sure. By the way, Christine mentioned "en suite" several times. I've never heard this term in the U.S. But they use it a lot in Kenya when discussing properties. It simply means a bathroom that's attached to a bedroom. Thanks for sharing. 😀

Honestly I think Kenya just has a vibe for every kind of persons niche. I've come across some of their real estate videos and seen some beautiful single family houses cheaper than SP in this video but I guess it was on the outside of Nairobi not sure where they said it was but somewhere beyond westlands i think. And i've see some real estate apartments way overpriced within yhe city. Guess you just have to know where you want to stay and what vibe you are looking for. But judging from all videos, proximity to the city determines how high the price unlike here where factors like gentrification play a role to determine market values.

It’s not just the housing issue in Africa but the infrastructure. In particular roads and I’m talking about the highways but the roads or small arteries. African for some reason hate pave roads. Most of the smaller roads are not constructed and when it rains can be a nightmare. It takes a toll on your car not to mention power.

Not Nairobi, take time and look at Nairobi roads network what set Nairobi apart is when you exist main road to arteries you will find they are paved. It is google away. It is also the only city in the world with game park, a forest with waterfall and arboretum . It also has reliable electricity and 5g internet, free in public places

For this amount of money you can have a pool villa on Koh Samui Island in Thailand. The agent is not a sales person, she was definitely not into showing the place. I would not buy from her on attitude alone.

At most that apartment is worth halt that price. There are 4 bedroom stand alone houses in the same or better neighborhood going for the same price. Its not luxurious at all. Cheap Chinese finishes. That's a big rip off & to be honest your host is full of it & wasting your time.
