I've always wondered why the WW2 Germans used a plain straight-lined black cross as their roundrel instead of the curve-lined Iron Cross shape used in WW1 and in post-WW2 West Germany and unified Germany. After all, the WW2 Germans used the Iron Cross as their top medal, specifically the Knight's Cross with Gold and Diamonds (contrary to War Thunder which makes the German Cross in Gold the top medal).

The story about Nikolay Semyonov's gasoline discovery was great! I haven't been able to find much about what he did during WW2. I also had no idea JG 54 was completely bombed out, as I thought they were one of the few (arguably) undefeated squadrons in the Luftwaffe. *Where would I be able to read more about the story covered in "Sub Zero Chemistry?"*

The Indian airforce retired Mig27 in 2019 probably the oldest Using of this type of aircraft. But Russians in early 2000 offered a Improved version with the main headache Gone..that was it's engine R29 Tumansky with more powerful and yet very efficient Al31.(similar pair is used in Su30). Talks were gone ahead and Russians even made prototype one of the technician who was working on another aircraft in the plant said hey it's a Su30 landing but in reality it was Mig27. It got to be the best attack aircraft..but then Indian airforce lost fait in it as price was going high and AF Focused on More Su30 which could easily do the job of Mig27. And we finally retired half of Su27 in 2009 and rest upgraded were retired in 2019. Farewell buddy. U did a nice job. Specially in Kargil war.

Surprised the narration didn't specifically show the noses (including the interior of the noses) of the MiG-23 and MiG-27 and explain that the more bulbous / conical nose of the 23 is caused by a big radar dish inside, while the 27's sloped nose is shaped that way to enable the pilot to better see the ground in front of him for ground-attack purposes. Those different noses is how to tell the planes apart. Also mention the 27's engine is designed for low altitude flying.

One is chaff one is FLIR. FLIR defeats IR-seekers (generally short range missiles) and chaff defeats active radar (SPAAGS (tracking radar sort of; at least, it should) and long range missiles) I think that there is more radar AA in ground RB because there are ground vehicles and interceptors. Air AB is probably more IR seeking missiles. I don't know. I don't play high tier of either, but it makes sense. Radar seeking missiles, if there are any, ought to have extreme ranges of like 30-200km, so Im not sure if those even exist right now.

Bruh, do you know why kind of missiles the F-14 carried? Every single map would become obsolete because it could shoot everything down the moment they spawned. The F-14 would work on the special Naval maps-the giant event ones, but just barely. They're a lot more like a flying AA platform that a plane; they were designed to protect carriers. There's no giving them short range missiles, either, bc the platform doesn't work that way. It is very fast, but it's a very large very hot, and relatively sluggish plane compared to its contemporary fighters and multiroles (F-16, F-15, F-18)-remember, it is an interceptor, not a fighter. That being the case, it would make bombers and strike craft obsolete because nothing can fly high enough to escape its long range missiles. It's just...a really difficult plane to balance. There needs to be so much more before those are added. It'd have to come after we get fighters and multiroles from the 70s. Really, the only thing that could go toe-to-toe with it are similarly armed aircraft or those with stealth, and war thunder will be a very different game when those are added. A lot of countries don't even have missiles that can do that, and the US doesn't even have those kinda of missiles anymore, though I expect this to change in the next few years bc China.

Sounds like you’re describing a thermal sleeve, it’s meant to keep the gun barrel at a stable temperature so it lasts longer as shooting the gun effects the temperature of the barrel.

MiG 27 "Bahadur", Indian nickname for Braveheart, was a great attack aircraft but Soviets withdraw them early and doesn't have boom in after sell services and maintainance which lead to heavy loses in crashes and then ultimately retired from service in 2019.
