The fair has now turned into a disaster for local residents .. anti social behaviour, violence, drug taking, litter strewn streets, fast cars - a total disrespect for the locals by the "travelling community". Many businesses now opt to shut altogether during the week, boarding up railings to prevent horses from being tethered. It's now got to the stage where the fair is the biggest policing operation of the year for the Cumbria consabulary.
