I knew this was a parody of "The Sheik" but didn't realize they were also parodying other Valentino films such as "Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" and "Moran of the Lady Letty".

What no one gets these days, is how hard these pre-talky film actors worked, how many risks they took on the job, and just their natural talent. There were no stunt men, no special effects, and rarely a stand-in (unless maybe for superstar Rudolf Valentino at his peak, as he was SO Valuable to the company!) Movie company's OWNED their actors and worked them like dogs well into the 50's.
