5:05 while the fujifilm 150-600 is f5.6-f8, i own the fujifilm 100-400 and it is f4.5-f5.6 but it does have a larger filter size at 77mm. both it and the sigma are fantastic and lovely lenses though, but the fujifilm 100-400 has the upper hand in terms of light while the sigma is just smaller and more affordable.

This is going to sell. Sigma makes great optics lately and at 1/3 of the cost! The 18-50mm is already the best travel/street lens, it's lightweight, perfect size, amazing image quality, close focus distance, and sharp. For the 100-400mm if you could get this clear image of the Vessel with the XT3, I can imagine the stabilization on the XT5 will be even better! I think it's better to buy this lens than the XF 70-300mm. Again, everything is subjective. Thank you for another great camera gear overview!

Eager to see the sigma 23mm review. I have the 56mm and love it, but need something a little wider. I was pretty much sold on the 23mm after seeing other reviews on it a couple months ago, but then the Viltrox 27mm came along and I'm undecided again.

Always watching your videos. At 5min odd you compare this lens to the 150-600. Surely it would be better to reference Fujifilm's 100-400, which at 400mm is f5.6. It is also worth noting that at 400mm, the 150-600 is f7.1 so the max aperture at 600mm is not that relevant when comparing to a 400mm lens.

I have this lens! I mean not the *exact* same, I have the Nikon F mount version, which is identical as far as the optics go (they just added length at the base of it) that I use on a Fringer NF-FX adapter. Optics are great, stabilizer is pretty solid, doesn't matter if it's full frame or not, it works! The AF on yours is probably better though haha. Also I'm not sure if it's able to fully utilize the 40Mp sensors, it's sharp enough for 24/26 but not really sure about 40, especially wide open

Good alternative to XF100-400. Wish Sigma brought this a few years back 😞. Would've saved my wallet and of course the weight and dimensions are worth buying over XF100-400. Bought my XF100-400 in 2018 now that is a keeper having spent so much on it. BTW I cannot understand why all reviewers are telling about the push pull zoom as a fea😲😲 ? My 3 XF zoom lenses (18-55, 70-300 and 100-400) can be zoomed that way! So also the old Sony A mounts (1680 CZ and 70300G) I have. Even in the Fuji XS1 that brought me into Fuji fold the lens can be pushed and pulled to zoom

Is it advisable to use this Sigma 100-400 on X-S20 with HD 240, since it crops further 1.29x in video it gives equivalent focal length of 200-800mm without 1.4 TC

That lens is smaller than the Fuji 100-400mm and lighter by 200 grams. The 70-300 with TC will offer worse optical performance and 2/3 stops less light gathering.

@@ionrage I don't know anything about 16. But when I switched from sigma 30 to fuji 33 1.4, it was a dramatic change. Sigma 56 is a much better lens than Sigma 30, but I found out that I tend to use Fuji 90 a lot more. However, I think Sigma 56 could be a better option than Fuji 56, because the latter is heavy and has a slower af, but I didn't have a chance to test a Fuji 56.

In any case, Fuji original lenses will always reign supreme… the XF 100-400 with the fast linear focus motors, is no exception… I do however prefer the 150-600, albeit at a full stop of light loss at the long end of focus. I’ve had three expensive sigma Art lenses, and they’re pure crap, especially compared to Nikon and Fuji originals

Then what Fuji has to offer in native lenses 200mm and above suffer some weird and harsh bokeh effect
@andrerusselch Жыл бұрын
The video stabilization is horrendous especially for birds/objects in motion, you saw that in the micro video sample you also shared, as you moved slightly the jerkiness of movement was bad and a complete No No for wildlife or action. The 70-300 is itself a much better lens and the 100-400 is way better than this. For photography the 70-300 is cheaper and is brighter with way better stabilization.
@kaneclements7761 Жыл бұрын
Not according to more technical reviews. There are some advantages in the Fuji offering. They are marginal. I've used this lens on Sony and it delivers cracking results. Add in price and weight and this is a good option.
@RinMinase Жыл бұрын
5:04, don't you also multiply the crop factor to calculate the aperture since the lens is full frame? 🤔 So it's effectively 150-600 f7.5-10? Feel free to correct me since I'm not quite sure about this. So the f8 from Fuji would let in a bit more light than the sigma when zoomed all the way in, I guess.
