I feel as though Danni doesn't get enough credit as the first meta-gamer in Survivor, and i'm genuinely shocked it's not a strategy we hear even in post game interviews as something being used. Danni had almost a purple edit in Guatemala because in her words, she would ramble in confessions, making them unusable, and causing production to ask her more questions. She did this because she realized that all the questions to prompt confessionals were related to the strategic games being played, so she used production to get more information and give none.

An underrated part of Rob's win on Redemption Island was spelled out be Natalie at the reunion - they didn't show too much of it, but she credited him with forming a really strong, personal connection with pretty much everybody on the island. Amber was saved because of the deal Rob made with Lex. She didn't have to do anything. Her key move was aligning with Rob.
@multiplemike50214 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Rob made the pitch which helped, but Amber had to do the leg work and convince KATHY to keep her. Kathy was Lex's right hand, and she held a lot of influence in that pairing. If Amber did not make a good enough argument for herself, it is likely she would've been knocked out at F10 and who knows Lex could've taken over the game after the merge. But Amber's underrated strong social game coupled with some good charm convinced her enemies to keep her. That is a subtle but effective part of her gameplay. She is a person who excelled at the UTR strategy and it worked in those early seasons of survivor. Years after this, Natalie in s18 would employ a similar strategy and win over the overrated Russell Hantz.
@gengarcrobat15764 жыл бұрын
@@multiplemike5021 Her social game helped I guess. But that just helped her on top of the deal between Rob and Lex. That alone did not save her.

Honestly Not making a move might be better than making a move, and that in itself is a strategy, Shii Ann recognized early on that Amber was playing under the radar and was gonna win, Sandra has a loud personality but her game is subtle, in HvV she forms good relationships with the people who'll form the jury and ends up winning the season over betrayal heavy and hard players Parvati and Russell, Parvati even tried to convince Russell to vote out Sandra but he's a really bad social player and didn't do the reading
@gengarcrobat15764 жыл бұрын
@@Awesomenesswithacherryontop Yes, I agree that Sandra deserved to win HvV, but this is about Amber. I'm not saying she had no social game. I'm saying that it wasn't her social game that saved her. It was Lex holding up his end of the deal that saved her.
@Awesomenesswithacherryontop4 жыл бұрын
@@gengarcrobat1576 Gengar Crobat I mean, yeah, but having an alliance in itself can be strategy, if you watched Marquesas, Rob played just as hard, in All Stars, Amber had a good reading on how she would do if she aligned with Rob, and basically just win from there, because she knew Rob would protect her and he's a really good manipulator and a mafioso player, and that she would win over him because she pissed less people off than the one more exposed by being the face of the strategy, while she was the one workin' behind the scenes, and it helped her case that Lex didn't listen to Jerri who basically outlined his downfall.

@multiplemike50214 жыл бұрын
Really? I think she is playing a good game to get to F7, if she survives, but a bad game to get to final tribal and win the 2 million. If this was just the pre-merge, I would agree that she played well. But since the merge, she needs to start taking bigger risks and I don't see that in her style of play. I think she will be knocked out very soon actually, as she is a hyena who will be targeted by the lions soon enough. I just don't see how she is playing one of the best games amongst the winners. I think Tony is playing the best of any of them and no one else is close. Sarah is doing well too, but she made a big mistake at the F11 reward.

Winners at War Signature Moves For (mostly) Every Player thus far ========================================================= - Natalie: Continuously acquiring fire tokens on the island that led her to be the single richest player on Edge at the time - Amber: Uh... I don't know... maybe giving her fire token to Rob (her husband) - Danni: I don't know... - Ethan: His heroic moment of pushing through the log challenge until the completion - Tyson: Peanut Butter... and getting himself back into the game then playing low the first eviction of merge - Rob: Being able to make a tribe of all winners remain silent for an entire day leading up to tribal (tho that was also his downfall). Also making a full tribe of winners dump out their bags at tribal in front of everyone in attempt to find who has the idol. - Parvarti: Selling a 50/50 idol to Michelle for 4 fire tokens (which Michelle should've never taken) - Sandra: She didn't do much other than successfully sit out of every single competition in the game (or at least those shown on the show) - Yul: Organizing the idea of the poker alliance that ultimately got Amber and Tyson voted out. - Wendel: Playing into the idea that Michele and Wendel had a toxic relationship outside the game, while secretly working together the entire time. A brilliant coverup of an alliance. - Adam: Attempting to grab an idol that was supposedly located in Tribal in front of everyone... wish it was real... ========================================================= - Ben: Calling adam out before and during tribal to be seen as a distraction while everyone around them was deciding on who would ultimately be voted out. - Denise: ... you know what she did ... a truly epic vote out of the Queen "sandra" herself with her one and only vote. - Jeremy: Orchestrating the blindside of Rob and Adam by voting out Ethan instead. - Kim: Getting the target off of her back and hiding back into the background after clearly being on the outs for the first few days in the game. - Michele: (same as Jeremy) - Nick: honestly no idea... - Sarah: Playing both sides while alining closely both Sophie and Tony. Laying low even tho she had one of the biggest target during interviews before playing. - Sophie: Essentially being the one person calling all the shots without anyone realizing it in the process. - Tony: Laying low and keeping a target off his back even with being one of the most infamous winners in survivor history.

I love how Tony Vlachos used Jeremy's meat shield strategy to win Winners at War. He also instituted his Spy Nest and social game of awesome likability to become, in my opinion, the best Survivor player of all time: the B-SPOAT.
@frankschaefer88903 жыл бұрын
Tony Vlachos is undeniably the Survivor G O A T right now. Could change if we get to Season 50 or later and see other games in the future but now this is the best game of all time complete from day 1 to day 39...

Awww poor Sophie, Lol. And that is the reason why she went into Season 40 with a massive chip on her shoulder and was looking to pull off some big moves.

My queen Sophie didn’t need a flashy move to win, homegirl came to get a check and left with one. Now that she’s got her check she’s coming to take names

Sophie is playing a good UTR game right now, but I don't think she can win. She is playing too passive and really not making any major moves. Yes I know she influenced the Wendell vote out and she has an idol, but I just get the feeling watching her that she is not driving the narrative. Plus the Wendell move only worked because the power alliance run by Tony also wanted him out, she is not playing with any real power in the tribe. It does feel to me like she is playing somewhat similar to Sandra's "anyone but me" style, but the problem is that I don't see a person who is her core alliance member where she can both feel safe AND in control of their pairing (think JT/ Stephen or Tony/Woo). Who is her #2?. Sometimes the right thing to do is to not make any big moves, but often it is not how you can win modern day survivor. I get the feeling that Sophie will play her idol at F10, and then be voted out in one of the next two tribals. If she came into the game wanting to change her reputation as a quiet/passive player, I'm sorry to say but I think she hasn't done much in my eyes to deserve the 2 mil at this point. She is one of two female hyenas in the game right now, and the way the edit is going, I think she will be eaten by the lions of the tribe soon enough.
@cjtrules14 жыл бұрын
@@multiplemike5021 Everything you said is true BUT I think at this time it is best to not make a big play. There are too many people still in the game. There are no alliances set still and I think everyone is watching out for someone trying to make that big move. Remember these are all winners who know the signs of a big move. All of them know if they make a big move then they are most likely on the chopping block next tribal council. The only previous winning strategy I can really think of working in this game is meat shields... and of course being in the background. Sandra was KNOWN for her "as long as it's not me" strategy, Sophie isn't. I really believe at this stage of the game it's not the right time for a big move. Maybe why no one is playing their advantages.
@multiplemike50214 жыл бұрын
@@cjtrules1 That just changed with episode 10. Jeremy effectively ended his chances of winning tonight, and Kim is also in serious trouble. I think she goes out next, and then Sophie is gone right after her. I can't wait for next week. Tony has played a masterful game this season, and watch as he reminds everyone why they should've gotten rid of him in the pre-merge. Next week will be his episode to shine, I can feel it.

I feel like the whole survivor all stars situation would’ve been solved very easily. If at the challenge at the tribe swap, Robs tribe threw the challenge, they could’ve voted off the one in the minority so they’d still go into the merge with numbers and the jury wouldn’t despise rob. Then rob would probably win because the elimination order would probably be the same

While Sarah Lacina getting the Legacy Advantage was definitely the biggest move, it was part of what is her signature move: she takes out whoever sees her as their best friend in the game without remorse - because it's the right move, strategically. Zeke said it best at FTC: "On day three of this game, I gave you my jacket. And then I was blindsided. And every night, you wore my jacket to Tribal Council. And all I could think was, 'Hot damn, that is badass!'... So Sarah, I am your champion tonight."

Everyone said Sandra won Pearl Islands, because she sticked to a strong player. But she had ideas, and then, when there was space, she totally ruled the game. At first, she took Dara to spy on Burton and John, she got Burton blindsided by she blindsided all of them one by one then and as last, she still seemed like a weak player, so Lil took her to final 2. Genius!

@zeaferjones14042 жыл бұрын
I liked Parvati in Heros vs Villains more than I did in Micronesia. Not only does she pull off the double idol move but she was a challenge beast and won a bunch of immunity challenges. In Heros vs Villains she was a legit physical threat. She did win one immunity challenge in Micronesia but I felt like she wasn't quite the challenge beast in that season. Also she was more cautious as she actually passed on an immunity idol in that season.
