I quite enjoyed most of these, and “hillbilly make-believe” always appealed to me coming from a hillbilly family myself on my mama’s side. That being said, with all the passion you decry these episodes, you always give reasons for deeming them “sins” or just plain “dumb,” you never just shout them down with no cause. It’s clear all your opinions come from a place of “tough love” for the show, and while I’d mark down that kind of love as needlessly cruel were it leveled at a person, luckily we live in a world where TV shows don’t have feelings (unlike some locales in the Twilight Zone)!

The thing you have to remember is that Rod Serling *Invented* almost all of the cliches we see in television and movies today. If some of them were a bit clunky or if we can see the ending a mile away, well that is the nature of being the first.

I agree with you on many of these. However, I've always liked "Elegy," and "The Hunt" is one of my favorites. My least-favorites list includes the two ventriloquist dummy episodes, The Mirror, The Mighty Casey, Steel, Little Girl Lost, and Twenty Two.

Sorry, I have to disagree with you about The Fever. I think that the slot machine following the man around was a very clever way of illustrating how insidious addiction can be.

You've really got to stop holding back. Next time let us know what you really think of "The Hunt". 😀 I'm not that bothered by it as much as you are. I just think it's a story that doesn't really go anywhere and ends in a way that seems poorly thought out. It's like this is the first draft of the script that really needed some rewrites but they shot it like this anyway. However, I can't stand "Horace Ford", it's like "Young Mans Fancy". I hate juvenile man-child stories. I just want to punch Pat HIngle. But I guess that's a compliment to his acting at least. The only other one I'll comment on is to say the bald cap Albert Salmi wore in "Cliffordville" is so bad, it's comical. He reminds me of a Tim Conway character on Carol Burnett. I don't think the episode was going for comedy, but it's hilarious. Makes sense I suppose, most of the fourth season is just poor, except I do really like "The Parallel". Thanks for these reviews! Keep them coming, I'm enjoying very much. They do give me something to think about. Getting to hear some informed critique of these shows is helping me see more in them than I had before, and much better than just "reaction" videos. I don't need to watch you watch the episodes and going "oooh" and "ahhhh". I look forward to what you think of Star Trek!

Yeah, the only part of “Cliffordville” worth watching was the part with Julie Newmar. The rest was unwatchable.

Of course we dont need to be reminded that nazis are bad. We all know that. Thats why we dont have them anymore. Even back then, they all just stopped existing after 1945.

@@whitebeardInnThis is a person ranking their personal worsts, for most people there would be some contempt, especially for a show they typically love. If you hate a show, you’re not going to be particularly pressed about its worst episodes because it’s what you’ve come to expect. If you love a show, episodes that let you down hit that much harder

Why? Because she hates The Hunt episode; which alludes to God and the afterlife? Well I'm a believer in the Lord, and I hate this episode too. It trivializes the important topic that it presumes to address.

I found those to be some of the best, myself---the worst to me were his attempted comedic ones, or the abssolutely idiotic "Robot is exactly like a human being" type episodes.
