The Silver Ferns on the Move

From August through to October, All three Silver Ferns units were on the move from the Waltham depot in Christchurch. After about 2 years of sitting in a yard, the ferns had to be moved to make way for upgrades to the Waltham depot. However, KiwiRail no longer wanted to upkeep the Ferns and so the Pahiatua Railcar Society got them.
They were all on the move to Picton to stay till an opening was available on the Interislander ferry to take them across the Strait.
The Pahiatua is intending to restore all 3 ferns to working order.
