One thing I think I forgot to mention in the video: another benefit of the a4 dark merc is that his amplified damage is helping the explosion from vengeance since it's physical and magic damage.

What do you think about running this as a Holy Bolt paladin as well (obv with a bit of modification)? or do you need to tank for the merc and be melee.

you probably could, you just need to invest all your points into holy bolt and synergies. It's certainly doable, you just lose all the synergies from sanctuary. I'm sure it works, though

I think the dark setup is probably more viable. you can squeeze a lot more defensiveness in and retain dmg through amp dmg and Beast
