The lessons you've shared doesn't only apply to basketball but also in other professions. I'm studying for my CPA licensure exam. And, this meditative exercise helps me improve my performance in studying. Salute to you, such an underrated channel.

I feel like the zone is knowing that you really gave it all you had in your training and internalising that energy into your focus finally expressing it against a slightly better or similar in skill opponent

This perspective is relatable fr. When I'm feeling like that, I'm not consciously doubting everything I'm able to just let it be there and fully accept the true moment.

This just helped a lot.. I always wonder though when are the times we use our thoughts to increase performance/create in general ? Or is it more about focusing thoughts ?
@DeepGameBasketball
@DeepGameBasketball Жыл бұрын
One example of using thought intentionally to increase performance would be the "manta" we mention in today's episode. Just keep in mind that it's a very quick, strategic thought -- not a running mental dialogue, which inevitably will pull our attention away and hurt performance. So if a quick, intentional thought (ie. the "back to the game" mantra") helps to sharpen your attention, it can be valuable.

Hey I've been watching your videos for a while but I'm trying to be the best basketball player I can be. The struggle I have is being able to wake up early in the morning to go train before school. How do I take that first step or make it easier so I can start my grind?

hey coach, i just failed my tryouts for summer basketball, and i feel like i was worthy to play on the team, but when tryouts came around, i didn’t play as good as i should, even tho i kept a positive mindset after i missed like 15 shots in a row. anyways, i just feel like i didn’t deserve it, but deep down i know im good enough. why do i keep freezing up?

I have great skills and can shoot very well but i dont get that much playing time beacuse i make the wrong decisions and dont follow the coaches plays. How do I fix it?
@Azilena4
@Azilena4 Жыл бұрын
Just take the shot and make it the more you make the more you play. No need to make decisions just take shots you know you can make.

It sounds like more real-game experience will help you convert your skills into game performance. Try adding more scrimmaging and pickup games to your training, and see how things shift for you.

@DeepGameBasketball
@DeepGameBasketball Жыл бұрын
@@malydus1439 It does, but incorporate 3v3 or 5v5 for best results. My advice is just to play and expose yourself to real game situations as much as possible, and be patient with giving yourself time to improve.

Back to the game thoughts are irrelevant in the game. Your thoughts never scored a point.
