What do you think the Simpsons final episode should look like? let me know
@MTTT192 жыл бұрын
I’m no writer but I think it would be funny if the last episode revolves around the family at home each coming up with things to do but they each point out that they’ve already done that and they all wonder where they go from here. Homer then thinks back on all the things they’ve done over the years and says that he believes that there will always be new and exciting things to come. It then ends with Marge telling Homer they’re late for Bart and Lisa’s Christmas Pageant and they leave the house.

Honestly, Barthood was my pseudo-finale of choice - so I'd want an extended version of a similar premise. I like the idea of re-focusing the story back on the family for a season, with time passing between each episode and resolving ongoing supporting character threads as they go. Have an episode opener take place at Lenny and Carl's wedding, that kind of thing. I'm part of a generation that grew up at the height of Simpsons-mania. It would be nice to see The Simpsons grow up and grow old too.
@doododaadoo86732 жыл бұрын
If I were to make the finale, it'd probably revolve around the Simpson's darkest hour. Bart gets expelled, Homer gets fired, Marge's passions are rejected(?), Lisa could have to repeat the third grade, that kind of thing. We see the Simpsons at their lowest point, and see how they get back up.

I remember at one of the early 2000's SDCC, (probably 2001) when Matt Groening was asked how he would end the series if the time ever came, his response was that it would be a Christmas Season episode leading up to the final moments being Marge nagging Homer to hurry up, they were going to be the late to their kid's Christmas pageant. ...Yes, the same Christmas Pageant as in the very first episode. The Simpsons would be working on a Loop.

I'm usually not a fan of this type of ending, it's very overdone and feels pretty lazy because no show that has done it has had it relate to the central theme of the show. But I guess it could work for The Simpsons.

I don’t know that it can be done on a loop as there isn’t much of a timeline between episodes or even seasons. Other than cultural references (especially in later seasons when they replaced jokes with celebrities playing themselves), you can’t say episode #275 happened “before” episode #312 or that the original Christmas special happened before the Babysitter Bandit episode and not vice-versa.

Any ending is completely redundant. They have completed the story arcs of even just about every minor character over the years. When you get to the point where you are marrying off comic book guy and moe, there is just nothing left to say or do. You also can't timeskip because they have done that like ten times as well. They have done marriage episodes, family reconciliation episodes, death episodes and just about any other kind of episode. There is just nothing left to do or say with the characters.

There's always more stories to do, they'll be repetitives and not new, but there's always stories to do. Maybe that's the trouble with modern Simpsons, they keep altering the past and relationships too to make new stories, so a FIX TIMELINE episode would be perfect on the final season on continuation of another one to FIX TIMELINE, specially talking about the past. I don't even know what's the true first time that Marge and Homer met, they change it almost always. If you can't make more stories, just fix all contradictory stories instead to create more, that way the simpsons team could re-do those stories making sense, like a remember episode or something, and at the end they remember something from a past nearby which the audience doesn't know guiding to the present, and from there the making simpsons older to death, and making dream in a coma the beggining of the first chapter of season one, to follow the loop of Matt Groening I saw in the commentary from here.

I feel like there's two ways to go about ending the Simpsons and they've already done it both ways. One: They end it focusing on just the Simpsons, showing what they've learned from their misadventures and what life looks like for each of them in the future. Like they did at the end of Season 23. Or option 2: They end it not just focusing on the Simpsons, but as Springfield as a whole. Putting the town in some kind of peril where they all have to work together to overcome it. Like they did with the Simpsons movie. In my opinion, both would be acceptable as long as they are done well.

The idea of a feature length movie came to my head as I started to watch this. A movie just seems more definitive than a season. I think a safe idea would be to write a movie that payed tribute to the golden era while bringing back that comedy style that made the golden era so memorable and ending with a glimpse into what the future holds for them all. What makes this tricky is the fact that the characters have not aged
@HuskyDog88 Жыл бұрын
Like what the Arthur series finale did. We saw what the future held for Arthur and his friends. They brought back Michael Yarmush to voice Arthur one last time, as he was Arthur's original voice actor when the series started in 1996. And we learned that Arthur made his own graphic novel and the first page was a scene from the very first episode, Arthur's Eyes.

I think that in the final season we should start to see weird occurrences throughout all of the episodes. Like Santa’s little helper disappears and Maude Flanders returns. Also the animation slowly gets worse as the season goes on. Then at the very end of the series we see that the show is a time loop that “never”ends, and the last scene is the family driving to the Christmas pageant. However, I’m still not sure how I would want the finale episode as a whole to play out. Though I wouldn’t want this episode to be the end completely. I would still like for there to be a 2nd Simpsons movie that serves as the true ending. The time loop ending alone to a show like the Simpsons wouldn’t be satisfying enough. My Idea for the 2nd movie would involve a glitch in one of the time loops, where the characters find out that they are cartoons and accidentally break the time loop. Springfield has to ban together to fix their mistake and find their true purpose. While the movie would give the entire town their moments, there would still of course be a bigger focus on the Simpsons. I picture something both epic and emotional. Maybe it’s explained that the future episodes and past episodes are all canon, as their never is a true ending. A very meta explanation, like the writers are in full control and whatever they want to be reality is reality. I’m not sure how I would end the actual movie itself and I get there would be a lot of pressure for the writers. However if they try their best and manage to pull it off then I would be very satisfied, because it needs to be ambitious. It’s the Simpsons we’re talking about.

For " The Simpsons", they should end it on a christmas episode and Homer waking up from a coma at the beginning. Then jumping to the present of Bart and Lisa's families, Meggie's, and Homer and Marge just being funny. 2 more movies to wrap it up works too.

I'd end the Simpsons as a parody of endings to other shows, probably over a few episodes to try and make a big deal out of it. Or, there could be an episode that ends with Homer waking up on the day of the Christmas pageant and talk about his crazy dream, which will probably please no one.

Creative team decided that a movie was needed. The show actually has some similarities with the simpsons; exaggerated violent humor, lovable characters that were exaggerations of human traits, and ultimately a slow decline. I don’t mean to say the final episodes of ed edd n Eddy were as bad as the modern day simpsons, they weren’t-they were funny at times but the show…lost some of that hmph. So to end the series, the team decreased the tv episodes-delayed the movie to get it right-and released a surpassingly funny, heartwarming ending that no one could have expected a cartoon from 1999 to give.

Simplest way to end "The Simpsons": KILL EVERYONE! Russ Cargill, now completely deranged, nukes the power plant, and this time succeeds. The only survivors - in a subterranean bunker - are Mr. Burns and Smithers, with Burns now the preserved cyborg head we saw at the end of "Rosebud." More seriously, I think a perfect way to end the show would be to bring back EVERY celebrity guest star from the show's history. They'd have to get a lot of impersonators for celebrities who were dead or otherwise unavailable, but it could certainly be done. There could be a whole season of the celebs staying in Springfield for several weeks, drawing worldwide media attention as they compete in a tournament wherein, "political debate" style, they argue over who most deserves to be the town mascot, now that Jebediah Springfield has been "canceled" for trying to assassinate George Washington. The winner is George H. W. Bush, who finally patches up his feud with Homer. He celebrates his victory by hosting a massive barbecued ribs banquet for the town, along with fellow Stonecutters Orville Redenbacher, Jack Nicholson, and Mr. T. Homer is reinstated as the Chosen One. And then everyone gets drunk and plays ping-pong.

The Simpsons won't die until Springfield disappears. Whatever the finale is, Springfield should erode quickly or slowly and cause the cast to abandon it. Nothing bad like a cataclysm, something as simple as the town slowly sinking into the Earth due to it being built on swap land or some similar premises. Whatever the reason, Springfield must be unsalvageable. From this premise, the townsfolk can ban together to try and save it but eventually they accept their fate. Each episode would be a mixture of a bittersweet sendoff and a fond goodbye as characters moves away one-by-one. The Simpsons family would be one of the last to go, with Bart, of all people, taking it the hardest. He doesn't want to leave, not so much because he will miss Springfield but because the event has caused him to have anxiety about change. Lisa would comfort him as the Simpsons move, watching Evergreen Terrace slowly disappear. Cut to a year later and we see how the cast does in their new homes, wrapping up loose plot threads and showing the towns folk having good lives. To finish it off, each one suddenly gets a text on their phones and they jump in their cars going to the same place. The former townies of Springfield gather up and have a giant picnic, where they catch up with each other and laugh about old times, cry about those who have passed, and excitedly talk about doing this again next year. We see each character has matured and moved on with their lives. The final shot will be a group photo that Homer messes up at the last second , followed by the last word of the series, "D'oh!"

the simpsons will never end. even once the original series ends, there will certainly be a movie and several spinoffs. it’s the pure embodiment of modern media and its refusal to let anything die and it will remain faithful to that to the never coming end.

That future episode would have been (should have been...) the PERFECT spot to end the series then and there.

The show already had it's final episode with Behind the Laughter. Almost everything has just been terrible noncanon fan fiction rubbish.

The Simpsons should've ended about 5 or 10 years ago. It really has ran its course. The actors, and actresses of the characters are at least 60 now, maybe some pushing 70, and Marge's voice actor can barely voice her character anymore. The only reason why it's still going is to profit from the brand, and that's it.

The Simpsons should wrap up with another movie, but I personally think it should end the way it began (in a spiritual sense at least). The show started with Bart as the main character so it should end that way. I already have a story for it: 13-Year-Old Bart Simpson meets a young girl named Gina Amorales. After hanging out with her for a while, he learns she's just like him: playing pranks, skateboarding, Itchy & Scratchy, and has a complicated relationship with authority figures. Over the course of 6 months, Bart forms a bond with Gina thanks to the relationships he has with everyone else, and he's able to mature and become his best self because of it. He will also start to understand more and more where he wants to go in life and tries to be the best version of himself.

Does anyone want the last episode to be a side show bob one He’s probably the closet to a antagonist. If you seen the episodes one by one he does have an arc of sorts

I don't think it needs a big finale. I'd be happy with a regular episode.

How we can end simpsons?

The final season needs to be set in the future with an overarching storyline. Then the final ever Simpsons content should be a movie and maybe the Simpsons hit and run 2 game

Honestly I think someone high enough up will drop dead before the show ends leading to an abrupt cancellation around 2026-2032

I think maggie should have the last word in the final episode

If Disney decides o finally put this show to sleep. Let Groening write a fitting ending (or any of the series veterans), make it two parter, And make the ending emotive. And i mean Homer looking at the sky emotive. And a more personal preference, end it in a time skip the show promises is definitive. Even if it doesn't continue, free the Simpsons from this painful loop. Or just go for Groening original ending and just reveal marge has bunny ears under her hair and the entire town is Life in Hell characters.

I think The Simpsons will end when enough voice actors of the main cast are not willing or are not able to continue working on the show

Good observations. Sadly, the longer the show goes on, and the worse it gets (those two things seems to go hand-in-hand), the less likely it becomes that the finale will be anything but a steaming pile of crap.
