In the ps2 version, this level is much longer. It's the only thing that wasn't expanded on the better consoles. I'm stuck with a crappy ps2 version and I can't explore springfield.

The HD versions of the game beat out the Wii and PS2 versions in many ways… Except here. The penultimate level of the lower quality versions is surprisingly longer and has a lot more to do.

Did anyone notice one of the key cards is yellow yet one of the slots is pink? Also the card Bart puts in the red slot was blue? Also because I played the PS2 version I was always confused as to why the outside of the mansion and Matt's office look very different in the cutscenes to what they looked like in actual game play. Why they flat out used the level design from the PS3 and 360 versions for the cutscenes in the PS2 version is beyond me

Why I do find the fight in this version more fun, I wish the level itself was long like in the PS2 version. I watched a vid on the PS2 level a few days ago, and MAN does it have more content than in this version.

The PS2/Wii version of this level is indeed longer. (There's a whole section of the level where you traverse through the mansion to get to Groening's room, which they removed in the Xbox360/PS3 version of the game.)

Yeah, this is the whole level. Just two areas: the front yard and the boss fight room. It's very different from the PS2/Wii version, where you have to go through the entire mansion first before reaching the boss fight room at the end.

I think this is due to a trade-off. Old-gen versions lacked a full hub-world, but thankfully with a giant map scrapped off the old-gen versions, more work and hardware can be put into the levels (which is why the old-gen levels look a little or much different than the modern versions of the level, and/or harder than the modern versions) And so level 15 was a normal level like the rest. HOWEVER, with the modern version, because there is a big hub world developed with collectibles and everything (Springfield) although the modern consoles handled more hardware, the creation of the hubworld (plus the smoothings of the levels in general) led to hardware complications nearer the end, as they ran out of room, which had to lead to some changes, majorly done to "Level 15: Five Characters in Search of an Author" where the level had to be spliced out to be shorter, but at the same time, to make up for it, make a more thrilling boss fight at the end, as his battle is a little more complex than the old-gen version. So yeah, both versions have their own pros and cons, plus trade-offs. + Old-gen had no hubs, but the hardware could focus on the levels more + Modern-gen had a hub world, but costing some hardware for certain levels.
