@@osky3301 uh… they do? lol. the only way to make it ethical IS to know exactly what’s in there- as in, building the database themselves. they can either just use the internet, they can use like public domain (i think it’s called?) images, like stock photos or free to use photos (though most of those still require crediting), OR, the preferred method, they use in-house artists and photographers to consensually train their ai. so yeah. they know. and they won’t reveal the source, ive asked. wonder why?

i agree with you about choosing aspirations and personality when they're a baby, but seeing the gameplay explained it more to me. you're not playing as these sims. you're playing as a god in their universe sent down to earth to help them fulfill their goals. you don't even have a specific family, you can hop to literally any zoi in the city and play as them! so it makes sense if you're getting like an 'overview' as a god sent down to help these people, with their life already planned out for them no matter their age. it made more sense to me! :)

It looks really cool and I’m excited for it but I don’t like that the average person won’t be able to play it. You need a pretty powerful graphics card to run it or to have upgraded your pretty recently. There’s a reason why the sims went for the look of their game that they did. I know a lot of ppl are talking about the ai art thing in my personal opinion I feel like this more of a disappointment than that. For that reason personally I’m excited for paralives more because it will be available for way more ppl and are already taking suggestions in the development process throughout this whole thing. Love that there’s more options though!

@@Vivianiubu As long as your PC fits the specifications it should be fine. My desktop got hot but not overly so. (like, while gaming the GPU should be at 70-85C ish, and mine was around 70C. A laptop may pose more of an issue though lol, I'm not even going to try it on mine, because it doesn't meet the requirements.

I haven't seen anyone talking about this in the comments. People online have been saying that they're using generative AI art in their game, which is really harmful to real-life artists. I'd be pumped for a new game like this, but them choosing to use generative AI rather than paying real artists to create aspects of their game really rubs me the wrong way. They need to be held accountable for that kind of thing before I'm on board.

hopefully they make it for everyone to play alot of us have had issues with directx12 etc for me i would have to save up enough to afford a new desktop/tower for it to work. we are lucky for amazon but sometimes even amazon can be expensive or not as much good raitings , or if u dont know much about computers you would need someone to help u get it setup etc , that would be major in my opinion i would like to see if we could adopt cats , dogs and even maybe reptile exhibits would be cool to see.

I know it's frustrating when a game requires more than your PC can accomplish, but developers can't only be keeping people with really old PCs and laptops in mind when designing games. We'd never have anything with nice graphics if they had to lower them just so it can run on old laptops and the like. People who have the ability to run this game deserve that just as much, you know? Plus, the requirements for a graphics card and processor really aren't all that demanding. It requires at minimum an RTX 2070 (which came out in 2018) or its equivalent from another brand, and for the processor, an AMD Ryzen 3600, which came out in 2019. That's six and five years ago now. The RAM also isn't completely unreasonable, 16GB is pretty standard for a gaming PC and it requires 12GB. 8GB would be standard for laptops, certainly, but I'm not sure playing this on a laptop would be a good idea anyway, since it'd get really hot. Also, a lot of issues with DirectX may stem from not having your graphics drivers updated to the most recent version, so be sure that's done before anything. By the way, a friendly tip: Amazon isn't always great for computer components. My step dad builds a lot of them and I'd recommend Newegg if it's available wherever you live (we also use Canada Computers, but alas, that's only within Canada, I'm pretty sure). But always compare prices between sites to ensure you get the best deal, and waiting for sales can really help bring the cost down. I also definitely recommend building your own, the prebuilt ones are often way more expensive and not worth the cost considering the performance. If you don't know what parts are best, if there's a Best Buy in your area they may be able to help, and if you don't know how, there are probably good videos on how to do it.

Plus laptops can be newer gaming laptops too and run like a dream but I will agree the ventilation is better in a normal pc. The processor isn’t asking for a lot at all, it’s the graphics card. In retrospect 2017/2018/19/20 wasn’t that long ago especially for the average causal person that would be usually interested in these types of games. It’s more of a case of the 5 stages of technology adaption model more than anything.
